Oh wow, yeah I figured I was wrong about that one. I think im gonna go ahead and order the sample pack, sounds at least worth a try, esp the castle long. Im like you though, im not a fruit vape kinda guy, I gravitate more towards the tobaccos. But if I like the GR im sure I will like the castle long, to me I would like a tiny bit more coconut taste in the GR. My first bottle was packed full of it, or maybe im just getting burnt out on the flavor since its mainly what I vape all day now. Its the first flavor ive ever really found that I can vape constantly, thats why I normally stick with it all the time. I need to branch out more, its just hard spending money on stuff im not sure ill like, I wish I had a local b&m where I could sample different juices, unfortunately there are none close enough to me to do so.

yeah...i guess since their gentleman's reserve is the closest thing to castle long it tends to drift due to people comparing and what not

did anyone ever review the Pukana La?

My last order I got a 30ml of Dragon Warrior... :( very much not impressed... My oldest son said was kind of a coffee vape...? It didnt appeal to me at all. Other than TGR and DW I have not any other juice from them.

I wasnt a fan of dragon warrior myself, it was very acrid tasting. You should try there king george, its a chocolate tobacco. Its a lot better then dragon warrior in my taste at least.

Old English Orchard Reserve is my favorite so far. It took me a day of vaping it to love it but the flavor is perfect. If apple bourbon/brandy sounds good to you I would advise you to try it. The flavor is mellow with the perfect amount of sweetness. SCDP is great but I think it would really shine if it was barrel aged. The fifth is...interesting. Kind of like bourbon/tobacco/smoked ribs. It's not something I could vape a lot but the smokiness is spot on. It's definitely something different. Gentleman's Reserve is simply amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Castle Long or who is looking for the perfect bourbon juice. I haven't tried them side by side yet(even though they're both sitting on my desk right now). $20 for a quality barrel aged juice can't be beat.

I was tasting it out of a magma dripper. It tends to take the flavor up a couple of notches.

I'm not sure if it was the cinnamon or the oatmeal flavor, but again, my brother and I were in a agreement that it was undesirable. I was gonna let him finish the liquid already in the reservoir, but he had no desire to do so.

Got ya. Yeah, I noticed there's a moderately unpleasant flavor present if I crank up the voltage on my unit. Given that I picked out the other flavors EXCEPT the "rolled oats" when I initially reviewed it (though I think I did note that there was some "other" flavor that I couldn't easily identify), I'm guessing that's probably the flavor of the oats coming out of your unit, though, the cinnamon flavor is mildly spicy as opposed to sweet, so depending on your feelings about cinnamon that might have been it too.

So long as I turn down my voltage a bit though I just about completely avoid the harshness that the oats seem to give the juice. I'm not surprised I don't like the oat flavor given my feelings about oatmeal prior-to dumping as much sugar into it as possible.

As an aside, I think that if a "sweeter" cinnamon was used instead of the spicy cinnamon, the flavor of the "oats" might actually be ok.

Got a question/thought for those of you who had some of the first few batches of OE Orchard Reserve. I finished the last of a bottle that was created on 12/27 of last year. Compared to the same liquid bottled only a month later, I'm noticing a tremendous shift in the intensity of the flavors. The "boozy" element is now very faint, and the caramel has dulled to a malty sweetness. The apple just isn't as crisp as it was even back in February, and is tasting more like an apple juice box.

I had high hopes that this liquid might improve with age, because it's a damn solid juice when fresh. So far at about 4 months in however, it's beginning to show signs of the dreaded reverse steep. My hardware and resistance is exactly the same, which is leaving me leaning in only this direction.

Just wondering if any of you still have any of this juice from that time period, and if you're experiencing the same thing.

I have noticed that age is not a positive thing for orchard. Very disappointed because it was pretty great for awhile there. Glad I didn't rush out and reorder it

Its been said a few times in this thread, if the steam co has an Achilles heel, its consistency between batches. Thats going to be a real problem for them in my opinion. My first bottle of TGR was amazing, then a month or so later I ordered 3x bottles of TGR, those had a faint artificial sweeten kind of taste (like the pink sugar packets).... I have recently ordered 4x bottles of TGR and 4x of CL (fivepawns) from my local B&M that finally got their mixology order in..... now I know these two are not the same, but it can not be denied that one is inspired by the other, and while not a carbon copy - its a good juice in its own right. If the newest batch of TGR has any quality taste issues, I'll have to really decide if I want to order from the steam co again.

That was a long rant to essentially explain, different batches from them tend to not be identical in taste to previous batches.;)
