Martha - I sure didn't mean to freak you out. It's not complicated at ALL! I promise.
All it has is a switch (consists of a button and a spring), the tube, and the atomizer adapter that screws on and off. All of four parts, all solid, with no wiggly fragile wires or anything you can break or mess up.
When you screw the atomizer adapter off to remove the
batteries, if you tip it down to let the
batteries fall out, your switch might fall out, too. If that happens, just slide the button & spring back down the tube. Or, like David suggested, hold onto the button while you're tipping the
batteries out. No big deal at all -- just something to keep in mind or you'll be crawling around on the floor to find the parts that fell out. You'll invent your own technique.
Just give it a bubblebath every now and then, and occasionally dab the silver conducting grease and the Noalox where David and the others suggested. That's pretty much IT.
