The supplier is responsible for my credit card fraud!

What type of card was it? And how did you find out about the problem?

  • American Express

  • Discover

  • MasterCard

  • VISA

  • Diners Club or Carte Blanche

  • I was notified of a problem by the card issuer before I was aware of any problem.

  • I found the problem myself and had to contact the card issuer.

I was just notified by my credit card company. Good thing I had purchased fraud protection from them for $2.99 a month, so I'm not on the hook for the fraudulant purchases one of the fraudulant purchases was at Home Depot for greater than $900 and the other at TJMAX for greater than $500. I looked on the internet purchases I made on the day of the fraudulant purchases. I made two internet purchases that day using that credit card and both purchases were for eliquid hardware supplies. I will not name the eliquid/hardware companies here because I don't know if it was related or pure chance. But one thing I do know is I won't take a chance again with those two eliquid/hardware supply companies. Until I'm proven otherwise, I've black listed them from any more purchases that I make in the future.

It was a "VISA Check/Debit" card. I say I discovered the problem but I could have answered that question either way because the reason I called them is that they had already put a "stop" on my card due to some "unusual" activity. I won't name the vendor involved unless someone would like to share their own experience privately with me so we can compare notes.

If you made your eliquid/hardware purchase online and the fraud was in-store, you're protesting that supplier for no reason. You can't encode a physical card with data stolen online, it has to have been stolen in a swiped transaction.
