I know exactly how you feel. When I first started vaping I couldn't wait to get my packages. I would constantly stalk the mail carrier and when I got the packages it was like being a kid at Christmas. Now I couldn't care less. I even take my time about getting to the mailbox. No big deal. I think maybe like another post said I order way too much stuff. I constantly have stuff coming in. I think you ought to try what I am fixing to do If you are pretty much stocked up don.t order anything for awhile jsut take a break from ordering for awhile. Then after a few months if see an device or accessory that you really want Order it and see if the excitment comes back. That is what I intend to do

It's natural for some of us to get overly passionate about something then burn out, the fact that I'm not smoking will never cease to amaze me though, and vaping will always be a cheap thrill in my heart of hearts. It's good, I think, that's it's become more normal than exciting.

(And if the V4L 5 volt batt comes thru, we all may have that thrill resurrected again for a while - a wise and much needed business move by V4L)

It seems to me that there are two ends to the vaping spectrum. At one end, there are a few people who seem to eat, live, and breathe vaping. They have practically every PV ever made, every juice ever brewed, and document their opinions and experiences on Youtube (for which I am grateful by the way). At the other end of the spectrum are the few who are like the fellow who posted the following awhile back:

"I don't wan't to turn this into a hobby. I do just enough to keep me off analogs."

I suspect the majority of us fall in between the two ends of this spectrum. As for myself, my initial infatuation was such that I ended up owning a couple PV's along with my V4L bats, several different carto types, and experimented with a few different vendors for juices. But in the end, the thrill has worn off as I have settled on my favorite equipment and a few favorite juices. And like the person I quoted, I now just see this as a way to keep me off analogs, no more, no less. It's nice to chat here with some great people and I try to be a support to new members. But that's about it for me.

Excellent post, Tracker. You speak for a lot of us. In my case, dead center on that spectrum fits. I'm off cigs now, no looking back, but I continue to enjoy learning about the subtleties of vaping. I have a small supply of gear from various vendors (V4L's my home base), and my vaping feels to me like enjoying a small spread of fine wines... or favorite CDs. Very nice.

I think half the fun in the next few years will be watching V4L and others stretch the limits of the vaping we now know. The big initial start-up curve is past, and now the real fun begins. I can totally understand Steve's creative development thrust right now. This is the time for that. But soon, even a semi-interested vaper like me can at least sample around the edges of the newest and brightest. Come to think of it, Katz, maybe that's a way to prove B.B. wrong.:D

I never thought it could happen to me. My V4L orders have become 8-o boring 8-o

I've placed two orders this week, a few bottles of Nuport, some blank wow carts, maybe a couple of packs of prefill flavours. I even ordered some Wowboy juice and tossed in another diamond shorty to jazz things up.

I now have 3 orders in the ether, but the thrill of opening the packages has gone. As long as I get bottles of my precious Nuport and enough blanks to keep me topped up, my needs are met. Seems I have settled down to being a boring vaper.

How do you keep the romance in your vaping life? How do you keep the spark alive? What makes you continue to stalk the delivery person, even after months or years of vaping? Please share your vaping love-life secrets

Find an old working battery that needs a makeover and go wild with some nail art and a nice top coat! :) Then please post us a picture!

Oh for package addiction... I signed up for the Prime member shipping on Amazon and look for things I need but am too lazy to go to the store for, then use the FREE 2-day shipping. I get several packages a month, sometimes a week! Today, a box came with a plastic shoe horn in it for the hubby lol.

This sounds really exciting ! You should start a thread on exactly this. I'm sure I could figure it all out except the flavoring part and the unflavored nic. WHere whould I get the flavoring ???? Very cool !

It's still exciting to me after all this time, however I don't have any diamonds or drip tips nor have I tried more than maybe 30 flavors. It's mostly due to budgetary reasons but I am also intent on this costing less than analogs. So far it is cheaper because I haven't given in every time a new flavor or piece of hardware is introduced. I am very good at restraining myself to buying what I need vs what I want.

Now that I've amassed ten bottles of juice (that's huge for me), I feel I can spring for a diamond treat or a new AC charger or more manual batteries in the months to come. In a way I am planning my future excitement for the next few months, a little at a time. Me, methodical? Totally!

I thought smoking was boring. Same brand every day, day after day, decade after decade. I never expected Vaping to be "work" but I'm okay with the maintenance portion of being a Vaper, and the bonus of having this community here means everything to me.

I guess by my "holding back", I am banking on my future thrills.

Thanks for all the responses everyone !!! Some really good insights here.

I never though of smoking as boring, or exciting, it was just there. I suppose my V4L packages were exciting because it was all new. I haven't tried that many flavours really -though my stockpile of cartos has grown surprisingly large, it's because I don't like that many of them. Perhaps I am just fortunate to have found what I like and be able to sample around a bit.

I do place frequent orders, for a few reasons. Orders can take up to 3 weeks to get to me. I had 2 orders, placed 2 weeks apart, arrive on the same day. That's post & customs for you. If I order fortnightly, I can gently stock up on my favourite flavours rather than placing the occasional huge order. Have to remember also, due to vaping being a grey area here, ordering more than 3 months' supply is illegal, so regular small orders helps stay under that radar. Besides, sometimes those sales are too darned good to resist ! I've also recently come into some money, so after years of low income, I am able to splurge. Importantly, this has been an unprecedented period of the Australian $ being worth more than the US $, so it is the ideal time to stock up on anything I buy from the US. Our $ can be as low as .49c to the US$, if that happens again it'll make vaping prohibitively expensive.

I guess what's really happened here is what I said would never happen: Vaping became a hobby. I was never going to let it take over my life or be more than smoking was. But it did, and I'm glad it did. It really got me to the point where I can't see ever smoking again (while I can vape). Now I suppose I have to get over the "Christmas" effect of deliveries and move into a new phase of vaping.

Thanks everyone!
