OK, so I will preface this with a couple of things......
1. I have only tried the virginia (a freebie cart) and the kamel menthol (that I ab-sa-lute-telly freakin' love) as far as the tobacco flavs go.
2. I believe I remember enjoying the virginia cart, although its been so long.... im just not sure my memory serves me correctly anymore?!

So, I'm sure that the input will be great here...
but, im looking for your personal thoughts on the plain tobacco flavs mainly.

secondly, any input on the menthol tobacco flav's will be greatly helpfull as well.

(I've been lookn' at the pari, and dunhall 30ml's..... but would like the opinion of any or all tob. flav's ya'll love!)

Thanks to all,
J.

Tobacco flavors are very subjective, I think the only one that most everyone consistently agrees on as far how it tastes is RY4 (caramel). V4L has 2 tobacco samplers, that would definitely be your best bet.

Check around tho, there are some very nice reviews of all the tobaccos here.

My personal faves are the Parliament, RY4.

Yeah, tastes in tobacs vary widely here. I've tried most and had a few old PGs I liked, especially Parl greens although the Virginias and a couple of others were tasty. In the new prems, I've been enjoying the Dunhalls lately--rather dry but a lot like a cig in taste and huge vape. I like them enough that I just order the Dun Menthol this weekend. Oh, and the prem Virginia Menthol are great if you like a powerful vape with heavy cough-drop menthol.

I was originally a menthol smoker so I don't know how much my opinion will weigh in on the plain tobacco flavors.

Reg: I liked the 555 and the cowboy for traditional flavors, but again it has been a while since I can remember what real tobacco tasted like. Most people say they don't consider 555 a tobacco flavor, but INMO it is and a great mixer with a lot of other flavors. Kinda like the vanilla of tobacco flavors. You can never go wrong with the 555.

Menthol: I love them all. V4L has the best and most extensive selection of any menthol flavors that I have ever tried. They nailed these.

Kamel - Most tobacco flavored menthol I've had. It has an aftertaste that I cannot quite describe and best th.
Cowboy - I put this with the tobacco menthol category. 2nd stongest menthol
Cool - This goes in the category of good tobacco flavored menthol. This to me is the smoothest tobacco menthol.
Menthol- Fav all day vape. I could never get tired of this. This is like the middle ground of menthols. It has a little tobacco taste and a little candy taste. It is the perfect mix to me.
Nuport - Sweetest of the menthols, more candy like (wintergreen). I like this one at night.
Smilin - Everyone's favorite (why they are always out). Smooth dinner mint style. I like this one more and more each time I try it. If you don't like it at first you will eventually. It is the vanilla of menthols.

I have all the newest menthols coming this weekend, so I'll have to let you know and try to rate those.

ALC, you're brilliant. A vanilla of tobacco flavors. A vanilla of menthol. It's pure genius. I was wondering why i love 555 even though I really dislike all other tobacco flavors (I can tolerate Kant and/or maybe Hilton) and why I love SMILIN even though I hate menthol, and I never smoked menthol cigarettes. That's so clever what you said. 555 is just reminiscent of tobacco, in a smooth and intriguing way, without the harshness and the bitterness. SMILING is just pure freshness and sweetness, nothing like a gum or toothpaste. More like biting on a piece of a fresh mint leaf in a bowl of your fruit salad. Thank you for your wonderful review.

Im a tabacco flavor junky. Thats pretty much all i smoke. I was looking for a unsweeten version of tabacco with a nice smoothness. Kind of analog esq but not really. I found what i was looking for elsewhere but from V4L here are some of the ones i tried and liked.

555- i first was skeptical because i didnt know if i would like the nuttyness. but after i tried it i also thought it tasted more like an analog. The nutty flavor is quite good and the vape is smooth. The TH reminds me of the marlboro red analog TH. Its very nice and smooth. The nutty flavor adds flare to it. I wish i could have gotten this flavor in a real cig (when i was still smoking them). If you like the regular ones the premos seem to make those flavors pop. And lots more vapor.

Kamel- I thought this one would probably be it, but sadly it wasnt. I thought it was too sweet for my taste. The vapor was good but i didnt get a throat hit. I tried at 36mg and the TH was alot better. And the taste grew on me. But i dont think it taste like an analog at all.

Cowboy- I rather like this one. At 36mg the TH was a kick. Kinda sweet IMO, but not quite there in terms of less sweetness. Vapor was okay. I bet the premos are better. but this was my main vape for a while. It didnt taste like a regular marlboro to me though. Some cartos of this also gave me a new plastic taste. Not all of them but some i had to toss. So i might have gotten a bad batch.

Hilton- I like a lot and still vape. The TH was very good. The flavor isnt sweet at all. A nice smooth vape. Even at 24mg and 18mg the TH was nice. I like the fact it isnt sweet. The premos make everything i like about it way better. But overall a nice transition from analogs to vaping would be found with this flavor.

Parliment- I like this a lot too. This reminded me of an analog. Right down to the taste until i found something else i will get to. Good TH good vapor and great flavor. I was impressed because i never liked parliments. But i like this carto.

Virginia- A little too sweet for me. but not like the other virginias i had tried. The was a subtle sweetness. and good TH and flavor. Alright vapor..not bad just not the best. But pretty good if you like the sweet tabacco. Best virginia I have tried by far.

Dunhall- Last bot not at all the least. I love this one. Not sweet at all no sweetness exactly what i wanted. Good smooth vapor that gives a nice TH (36mg). Lots of vapor. Ive only tried the premo. Love the color too which is dark red. I like red a lot. But overall the closests Ive come out of V4L cartos. It doesnt have the nasty burning taste of paper like analogs but tastes like burning tabacco IMO. Its very good. I know that sounds bad but it taste how a fresh pack of cigs smell with a slight burning tabacco taste too. Just very very good. And the premos have plums of vapor. I would suggest this for every tabacco lover to try at least once. I got a sample of the menthol too. And even though i never liked menthol i rather like this. Its very mild menthol which is pretty good. I thought newport was overbearing menthol!

Just a little review for you. Maybe it can help. But i havent tried many menthol, as I stated im not a fan. But so far none of the V4L premium tabacco flavors have dissapointed me. Which ive only tried 555 hilton and dunhall. Cowboy is my next one to try. Anywase taste is dif. for everybody so YMMV. But i would highly recomend Dunhall and Parliment. OH I forgot. For some reason my kamel juice tasted really good. Better then the carto. For some reason the taste was great and lots of vapor??? Also the TH in pretty much everythhing i try is good because i mostly vape at 36mg and 24mg.

Great review! I'm not sure which Parl (green or blue) you're referring to, but the green, along with Cowboy, got me off cigs a couple of months ago. And I had a hunch you'd end with praise of Dunhall. That one (prem) has really grown on me, so much that I'd recommend it as a first choice for anyone wanting to kick cigs. It's a dry flav, without the nuttiness and sweetness of many other tobacs, and the big clouds of vapor are satisfying in a cig-like way. It's a keeper.

to help you on your flavor perceptions there is a chart in pdf format that breaks some flavors down into sensory. it has specific categories for the sensory potentials and it's a good model to follow for offering review data. an example is Dunhall....it's a very DRY flavor.....doesn't it make you think of "burning hay"? on the potentials chart that is the Prominent sensory perception to that flavor within the categories.

since this is an annex of ECF it's not appropriate to post it here. just pm me. it's very intriguing to me because i like chemistry. i've been around it all my life. my mother runs a lab for two Rheumatologists so i've had access to the equipment aside of having to fix it.

<lol> the centrifuges are so powerful that they will separate "the formula" in the cartos.

right now i'm gearing up for a DIY run at flavors not offered by V4L yet.
