Hello all :)

My 2 year vaperversary will be celebrated on April 3 so I thought it was about time I joined ECF to see what you lot are up to......

So, a few details by way of introduction. I'm a 40-something manager at a national civil engineering contractor in the UK and I really believe that vaping saved my life. Sounds corny, but very true. Since I first picked up an ego kit in 2014 and attracting curious enquiries about it from smokers at work, out little team of vapers have encouraged more than 15 smokers to make a complete switch to vaping

vaping is a hobby for me and I've enjoyed playing will lots of different devices and attys, but for the past few months I seem to have settled on a small selection of hardware that does everything I want. My main device is a Tugboat dual-18650 unregulated mech box usually with a TFV4 tank for it's large airflow and juice capacity. That setup goes everywhere with me. At home in the evening I tend to drip with a Noisy Cricket series box and Twisted Messes RDA. My final setup is a Evic VTC Mini with a Kayfun for when I'm going to be out for the day with the family because the juice and batteries last much longer with a high ohm build, avoiding the need to carry a juice bottle and spare cells. My ADV juice of choice is home-brew Heisenberg, with occasional periods of custard or sweet tobacco just for fun ;)

Anyhow, it's nice to be here and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day

Welcome - that's the first one out of the way, and I wouldn't say it was an awkward post to read...in fact it was very interesting. Brilliant to hear you've managed to covert others and fascinating to see what kit you've chosen and why.

It didn't take much effort to help them switch. Most of the smokers at work wanted to quit, but didn't want to give up. Talking to them about vaping was all we did and they made the decision themselves :)

Wow impressive score, 15 people at work! After more than 2 years of vaping myself, i still haven't managed to turn a single smoker into a vaper, except one Irish taxidriver maybe. In fact the only other vaper i know is the guy who introduced me into vaping.

Besides all the health benefits that come with vaping, it indeed has become a nice hobby to me too. I could have never guessed i'd ever pick up a new hobby at my age.

Have fun at the forum, lots of nice people and info here!

My sister-in-law was a success, but the problem now is getting her to come down from 24mg nic which she's been on for nearly 2 years! She says it works so why change it..... suppose she's right but I'm sure she would be just as happy on 12 or 18.
I was that way about changing from 18mg. But, I starting using sub ohm coils and dripping and the decision was made for me. Can't do over 3-6 mg even if I wanted to now. :)

Welcome to ECF, Foggin! Great job converting all those smokers to the wonder that is vaping! I've only managed to convert one person so far, but he really seems to like it and has cut down on analogs. I've been vaping since May of 2014, and I have yet to get my first mech. From what I hear about dual battery mechs like the Noisy Cricket, you've really gotta know what you're doing with those. Glad you feel confident enough to use yours, keep safe with them. Once again, welcome!

Thanks DoomiteAsh. Mech boxes are usually quite safe as long as you do some research about ohms law and battery safety. For the Noisy Cricket, I think I spent about 3 weeks thinking about it before deciding to buy. Using a pair of batteries in series (at 8.4 volts!!) was quite scary, so I watched as many experienced builders as I could on YouTube and made sure I understood what I was doing.

Welcome!

Tomorrow I will see the first person who switched to vaping because I influenced him. I did not try to turn him into a Vaper or an X Smoker he said it was because of the way I described it. He said had a bunch of friends try to get him to try vaping. Will update tomorrow after I speak to him after his first week or so.
