Sure nicotine gets a grip on you and makes smoking hard to quit, but I think the hardest thing to say good-bye to is the 'mini-break'. This is why we are finding it so much easier to leave behind the stinkies with vaping. Non-smokers just don't know how great it is to step outside of your life for a few minutes and debrief. vaping allows us to still do that. It was something I enjoyed doing my entire life and until this invention I never would have given it up.

"Smoking was invented to give a wise man time to think" is a quote that I like. Imagine a lumber jack lighting up and taking a moment to consider the best way to fell a tree. Or an Indian sitting by the fire smoking a pipe reflecting on the days hunt. So I think vaping gives a wise man time to think without doing something as stupid as smoking.

Oh, I hear you. I really do. Those breaks to calibrate your head are essential in allowing me to sift through all the puzzles, problems, and choices of a busy work day.

The corollary to that is that nonsmokers just don't get that we're NOT just standing there waiting to be talked to during said break. Nothing picks my peas more than being approached with "oh good, there you are; what I need is...", or words to that effect.

It's a form of personal maintenance that vaping has allowed us to partake in without (most of?) the consequences.

Vaping is arguably more self indulgent than smoking. Anyone can do a ton of things with a cig hanging out of their mouth. Not so much with a PV.

The downside is that cigs are their own little timer, too. You know you've killed about 5 mins smoking a cig. Vaping, not so much.

But, while vaping, the only thing you can do is talk between vapes. Which is genuinely luxurious. Especially when you consider all of the flavor options. :)

When I smoked, my day was always divided by my mini breaks. I'll have one more cig before I start cooking dinner. I'll have a cig before I start working on this paper... I never smoked at home, so my mini breaks always involved getting outside--my dog usually followed me. :)

I actually had a hard time switching to vaping because I could vape non stop and I could vape inside--there was no beginning and no end like with cigarettes. It confused me. So in the beginning, I decided to go out and vape like I used to smoke. ;)
