Our darned cat named Target has me wanting to kill her! :( She is normally an awesome, loveable cat, but the past few nights she has me wanting to kill her! She's an Inside cat that only gets to go outside when I take her baby brother Bullseye the dog out to do his potty chores.

Lately, every time I let her outside at night she will take off into the darkness and when I call he she will come my direction either chasing, dragging or carrying a possum. I'm getting really tired of hand to hand combat with those nasty possums! Especially when they come running right at me snarling and popping their teeth! To date I have had to kill 6 possums with my big police flashlight!

Last night and tonight she came right back to me and dropped baby possums at my feet. :) She was awfully proud of herself! I can tell you that she is Not Afraid to tangle with any critter! She has dragged full grown possums to me that were 1 1/2 times as big as she is!

What's a Dad to do? ;) :) :D

Ummmm... Catnip?

Our cats (Scarlett "Princess" and Azraphael "Azzy") get rewarded for every kill. My princess left me a dead mouse in the radiator yesterday. They both got some nip. It seems that the more they get rewarded, the faster they just kill the pests instead of toying with them.

So my recommendation is to reward Target and hope she keeps handling your local wildlife so you don't have to:p!

Pat her on the head and say "NICE KITTY...JOB WELL DONE!" I have 5 that like to bring me "presents" also. One night I couldn't sleep so got on ECF. I hadn't turned the light on yet so the only light I had was the monitor. I went to reach for my mouse and it grew fur. I jumped (I'm not scared of mice/rats but this was a surprise) and about fell out of the chair. I flicked the light on only to find a plump half chewed on mouse next to my mouse. I don't know who caught it but darn...don't put it there. Also stinks to get up to go potty and step on something squishy..ususally a dead mouse. I live in the country in Kansas so mice in the houses out here is unpreventable. GO KITTIES!!!

She is a good cat and she obeys me pretty darned good. In fact if she doesn't do what my wife tells her to do my wife says "I'll tell grandpaw and he'll get you!" The cat immediately does what my wife wants her to do! :) :D

If I take the cat and dog outside and then decide it's time to go in I'll tell them "in the House!" The dog Always heads for the door immediately. Sometimes the cat just wants to test me, so she ignores me until I say "Don't make me come and kick your ....!" I'll stomp my feet and she will immediately run to the door and wait for me. :) :D

As soon as we get inside I always give the kids a treat or two. :)

My daughter's cat goes out with the dogs when she can get past me. She'll come when called or be stuck to the screen door once she realizes she's the only one out there besides the cows. My other 4 don't have an interest in going outside. I was not a cat fancier until I bottle raised my tom cat. I instantly fell in love and knew that all the crap people say isn't true about them. He's my biggest love bug and loves to get under the covers with me once hubby leaves for work...he won't do it while he's home. He's also my best mouser.

Thats cats for you! She's quite the hunter it seems! Once years ago I was home alone with my 3 furballs getting ready to run some errands.
I made a quick stop on the throne with the door open when I see this creepy furry thing with huge yellow teeth coming right towards me! I quickly took the bowl brush and started pushing it out the front door. When it was finally done and I had quit yelling, I looked over to see all three cats staring at me through the sliding glass door. I swear to you they looked like they were laughing!

Lol lol lol these posts are hilarious! Never had an outdoor cat. Didnt know this was a common occurrence! I am down to only having my 14 year old pomeranian left. He is not doing too well either :( we adopted him from this woman that completely neglected him. He was about to die! We got him healthy again but..... He is just plain old now.

Make sure she has rabies shot!

We keep both of our pets vaccinations up to date. : They are our kids now, so they are spoiled rotten! ;) :) :D

Besides that, we just had a Grand Daughter Graduate from College as a Veterinary Technician, so she keeps a watchful eye on the pets for any health problems. :)

If she has always been an indoor cat, that is kind of unusual behavior, they normally wouldn't know what to do with one if they saw it... LOL!!
Otherwise, she is just thanking you for what little time of freedom she is allowed, and making the most of it!!

Just make sure that they don't mate... Ha!!
