Guy's unless you know what you are doing and feel Confident in the Knowledge you have acquired to Stack batteries then don't do it. That you are Fanatical about How you use the ones for stacking and use them Only for stacking, you rotate them, you name them, you keep notes on which ones you placed on top/ bottom last At last use, you meter/test them every single time you use them, you maintain a set of notes on degradation, etc. etc.

I would Not Recommend anyone Stack batteries UNLESS they Know what they are doing.

Please Read TC1's Thread on Batteries Explained . He wrote it for Your safety, please read it.

Sounds like too much work, lol.

I'll just stick with my original plan and use the 18350's for "stealth mode".

I couldn't agree more. Bravo!

(...) People have been injured stacking batteries in ordinary old flashlights simply because they have no idea what the heck they're doing and mix types or brands willy nilly. Then, they blame the batteries or flashlight and sue. There is no cure for stupidity, but ignorance can be easily corrected with a little informative reading.

Nothing wrong with stacking batteries if you use same brand and always fully charge both.

Seriously? with amount of Newbies buying the Vamo and having little or no knowledge of rechargeable batteries, that is a rather irresponsible statement. There is more to Stacking than a generic "It's Okay" response. We are all for battery safety, perhaps for you it is Not So important and that's fine but please try and think of who your advise may affect. Batteries Explained

... understand batteries, their limitations and hazards. I label them all, track the charge cycles, which one was on top the last time and check voltages. That is exactly what I am saying, if done properly, IE with the right precautions and monitoring, it can be done safely. Correct, just a bit simplistic ;)

But then I suspect *real* ...... won't even bother to read 'complex stuff' like this thread anyway... they know it all, so just get the cheapest Li-Ion unprotected 18350s they can find, and - presto - get on vaping at 15W.

Luckily for them most recent VV/VW mods do have some sort of electronic protection, so the chance of someone getting really hurt is lower today than it used to be.

I use stacked Efest IMR 18350's with single coil 3.0 ohm cartomizers and vape at 8.0 watts almost exclusively. I sometimes bump it up a little, but never above 9.0 watts. After a few mLs, I start checking the combined voltage (pressing and holding the "minus" button) of my two batteries. When it reads 7.0 volts, I know that each battery is at approximately 3.5 volts and I swap them for a fully charged pair.

It's just a little extra precaution I throw in along with labeling, use in matched pairs, and rotating top vs. bottom with each successive use.

I confess to not measuring their voltages with my multimeter after every recharge cycle, but I do check them periodically. My Pila has proven to be quite consistent.

I agree with the previous posters in that an IMR 18650 is the better choice for users that aren't inclined to apply a little extra effort to keep up with 18350's designated for stacking.

And that's exactly what anyone should do when stacking batteries... A tedious process, but IMO necessary for being as safe as possible.

My concern is about newbies getting a vamo, stacking two 'mistery' 18350s into it and then pushing it as high as it goes...

Just a little reminder for everyone checking this thread to determine which batteries they are buying.....

So far with my 18350's, the AW's are looking clearly superior to my Efest batteries.
The mah written on the wrapper doesn't mean squat.
A few times my Vamo has shut down on me, using my Efests when it read 3.5v before taking a hit.
It has never shut down on me using my AW's. (usually if I see 3.5v, I will throw it on to charge after a hit or 2)

Charger:
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | XTAR WP2 II Charger

Battery case. Anything else im missing here?
Thanks. :)

Good choices. Purchase and use with peace of mind. :thumb:

I have had my V2 for about 2 weeks & am using the 350's that came with the kit from China.
They seem to work as advertised & last nearly 2 days depending on usage.
They also recharge to a full 4.2 volts.
I do stack them as the AW 650's don't last but about 24 hours, which is all I get from them in my Reo Grand.
Also the adjustable wattage is a nice thing to have if I can just find a atty system that will work other than the VIVI Nova.
The Nova is 3.0 ohms according to the unit & I vape it at 5 watts which give me a cooler flavorful vape.
Don't like a harsh TH.

ps have tried a did type but can't get the flavor.

On another note, will those 18350 flat tops that I linked to and purchased have any rattle in my Vamo (in single 18350 mode)? I have the Helix spring and have zero rattle with my 18650 button tops. I've never used 18350's, though.

Just a little update about my above post............

I received the 18350 flat tops that I linked to earlier and purchased in this post: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/355592-vamo-battery-thread-26.html#post8578053

First time trying one of them today and it fit wonderfully (zero wobble, using a Helix hot spring). I'm still not going to stack them, since it seems that it involves too much work/worry, lol. But I have to admit, it's like I fell in love with my Vamo all over again, by using it in "mini mode". It feels great in the hand that way, and I just really like the way it looks, too.

I agree, I like the Vamo a lot more in mini mode than in full on missile mode LoL!

Although, as expected, the battery life with an 18350 is much less than when using my Panasonic 2250mAh 18650's... The Panasonics just last and last and last...

Yep. No competition in the battery-life department, but I knew that going into it. I figure I'll be able to get a full day out of (1) 18350, with my usage. (Not as in 24 hours of vaping, of course.)
