Never tried used PC batteries & probably won't with the cost of AW's. They last longer than the published numbers. I am uisng 2 18650s that I bought over a year ago & never let them fall below 3.5 volt before recharging.
Also have some 14500's my wife uses in our Reo Mini & have had the same results as with the 18650's.
Tried some brand-x batteries and they didn't last over about 6 months.
The 18650's are used in a Reo Grand.

Hope this helps,

louis

Panasonic have not come out with Official Statement regarding these batteries as they are for Industrial Use or sold as OEM's.
Some Efest '650's are Panasonic CGR-CH batteries. Orbronics also has the Panny re-branded as an Orbtronic.

The reason Panasonic removed the batteries is simply due to a Company Re-structure and the full incorporation of Sanyo Batteries. In the coming weeks we expect to see the same or similar battery available, however this will have a different model number to the current one. We suspect it will probably have UR-** code although the UR prefix is most commonly identified as Sanyo.

Received mine in today's vape mail and as you said, they work fine in my Vamo with the "newest" gold spring. Thanks again for the link!
Thus far, the following work just fine in my gold spring Vamo w/o any mods needed:

Panny 18650 Button Top
Panny 18650 Flat Top
AW IMR 18650 Button Top

I'm using those exact batts and have zero battery rattle or movement in my Vamo. I'm also using a Helix spring, in place of the factory one, though.

I noticed these batts, apparently new from Efest
3.7v Efest IMR 2600mAh 18650 Battery - Button Top
I'm thinking about these for my Vamo but not sure they will fit...if they don't I can always use them for another mod...does anyone have these yet?
Can't tell whether they are protected or not

They're a bit long - 67.7mm, according to the website you've linked - but I think they should fit in the vamo; my Efest IMR 2000 mAh are about 66.x mm and they fit with some margin left.

IMR (Li-Mn) batteries are always not protected, they don't need to because of their safer chemistry, compared to Li-Ion batteries.

Upon closer inspection... Either they have the wrong product photo or the wrong description. I zoomed the photo to what it says on the front of the batt, it says
Efest
18650 2600mAh
Li-ion/18650/3.7v/2600mAh/Protected.

The decription is:
Efest IMR 2600mAh 3.7v 18650 Battery - Button Top

?

Yeah, I first came across that battery on another site the other day and am still not sure what's going on. Efest IMR18650 2600mAh 3.7V

Hmmm, it makes sense that they're not IMR batteries... I was a bit wondering about the relatively high capacity, in fact, but heck they come up wth beefier batteries any other day :)

the highest capacity 18650 IMR's I know of are currently around 2300 mAh, tops (IMR chemistry packs less capacity in the same volume).

Personally I would't buy Li-Ion batteries for the vamo, only IMR. I think Efest (or AW) 2000 mAh should be more than adequate for your vamo, in mine one of those lasts for a full day (and I do chain-vape...)

Yep..all I'll do are IMRs
I wanted to get another batt because I only have two, lol..I have the Efest 2000s and really like them :thumb:
I was looking at the Efest 2250s but not sure if they will fit width-wise in my Vamo (I think they will fit lengthwise).
