I'm right there along side you Peraspera! For me it's sheer luck and pure magic! :D Pity sometimes I have neither.

Perhaps Kiwivap can shed some light, are coils best wrapped anti-clockwise down under? ;)

IMR batteries aren't li-ion. They are li-mn. The chemistry is safer, plus the unit itself has built in protection.

Actually they are both Li-Ion (Lithium Ion). Protected are generally Li-Po (Lithium Polymer), where IMR are Li-Mn (Lithium Manganese)

Li-Mn offer much higher discharge rates.

I agree on the Li-Mn/IMR part.... But are you sure the cells we use are Li-Po? Those are usually flat/thin. I've actually never seen a lipo cell that is cylindrical. And I have A LOT of lipos..... (r/c stuff)

EDIT: I have seen plenty of thin/flat Li-Ion cells. I am holding one in my hand right now. Apple phones use lipos from what I've heard.... Not sure as I am kind of a Droid guy myself. :)

I am thinking the ICR cells are either lithium cobalt or lithium iron phosphate. But I am unsure on that.

I think your right, the ICR would be cobalt.

Considering that technically you all have your AGA-T+s upside down to start with... I have tried both clockwise and anti-clockwise. Anti-clockwise gave me the 3.0 ohms -a bit higher than previous coils. But I honestly don't known which way is better or why. I was just concentrating on not having too much tension on the top lead to the centre post.
Now turn your Aga-T+ up the right way folks and proceed...

If they're protected batteries, which I think/hope they are, worst case scenario is their protection circuit tripping when you try and push them too far, but no damage.

I have the v2 vamo and heard that the trustfire 3000mah batteries do not work on them. Well I put my trustfire 3000mah in mine and it works just fine. Is it ok to use it or could it do some damage to my vamo?

Expect my Vamos to be delivered in the next couple days. Set up the xtar wp2 ii charger with 2 Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries. The instruction sheet with the charger is hopeless, but found instructions within an online review.

Good choices Nick!
With that charger, just set it @ 1A and go to town.
Doesn't hurt to double check your bats after fully charged. (shouldn't be above 4.25)

Sorry, Sorry, off topic Again, please don't hit me! frt1.gif

:D I've managed to get my 0.15mm Kanthal A1 (European 34g) below 3Ω's !! Okay only just - 2.8Ω but I think I can get them down more.

Basically, I twisted the positive leg and made my coil slightly shorter by fitting it under the 2nd nut on the pos' post (I use three nuts including base nut). I know basic knowledge right? but here's the thing: At first the negative leg got really hot, then I remembered reading Kiwivap exchanging comments about the vW setting (I can't remember with who, sorry:blush:) and that person told her to use the vW setting when setting coils.
By Jove, I tried this on un-oxidised mesh @ 3w pulsing (battery voltage 3.4v) and it does work, very well! Wow!! Thanks!!!

I'll be getting washers on Wednesday, but I suspect twisted legs on Both posts will bring the Ω's down more - don't quote me, I haven't tried both legs yet. Never know this may be of help to those using Aga-T's on the Vamo.

Now, to see if battery performance will pick up a little more.;)

should i get flat or button top batts for the vamo sorry am going to order one later today and need to know exactly what batts to get

Either one should work in recent vamos; just look inside the tube if you can see a gasket glued to the top of it (possibly red, many pics in this forum), around the positive post: in that case flat top batteries can be used w/o any problems.

If you're in doubt, get a button-top battery.
