I've had the Vapor King e-cig since April of this year. I loved it enough to stop analogs, but within the first few weeks, the atomizer died. I did an RMA and sent it in for a new one, per the 30 day warranty. That atomizer didn't work. So, they sent me another one. That one worked. Then, a few weeks later, both batteries died on me within days of each other. I did what they told me to and cleaned it per their specifications, and nope. They wouldn't charge, and they wouldn't light up. So, I got two new batteries. Then, my atomizers died again.

Its been like that ever since I bought it. I got them from Electronic Cigarettes Inc. and the customer service is great, but the product is just... not up to par.

I just today ordered two kits of the KR808D-1 from two different vendors. I'm going to try my luck with that brand to see if its my luck, or if it was just the company, or if the company just had a bum product.

Has anyone else had issues with the Vapor King? It produces clouds of vapor... when it works... which is not all that often.

If you got them from a vendor other than Vapor4Life, you got a knockoff and that's probably why you are having problems(just my $.02) Only Vapor4Life has the REAL Vapor King and there is no atomizer. It's a two part= battery+cartomizer. I've been using their products for a year and a half and my batteries have worked flawlessly:)

Actually, the "VaporKing" from that supplier (Electronic Cigarettes, Inc.) is not a KR808D-1, but a 510. Around ECF, we all think of Vapor4Life's "Vapor King", which is a KR808D-1.

As you will see when you receive those KR808D-1 kits from those other suppliers, the Kr8 model (as I abbreviate it) is very different from the 510. It uses cartomizers (i.e., integrated cartridges and atomizers): simpler and more convenient than separate atomizers and cartridges. Good TH, but, except for the newer, advanced cartomizers (e.g., V4L's Premium and WOW lines), the vapor is not as good as the 510. Perceptions about flavor quality vary from vaper to vaper.

I regard the Kr8 as the primary alternative to the 510 for the new vaper to consider. See my May 2010 comparative review about these two models. [My more recent update of "The Best Electronic Cigarette" substitutes the fat batts (e.g., eGO) for the basic 510, still using the 510 atomizer.]

Very interesting and informative. I just received my KR8's today. 4 batteries, over a dozen cartos and a DIY kit for making some yummy flavors.

You are correct. The KR8 is nothing like my old vape stick. I love the KR8 more, especially after I found the right strength of juice for it. The only thing I have to say about it negatively, is that I've opened 4 cartos, and 2 have been bad. And, I ordered the cartos from 2 separate companies (Because I wanted to rate each company's shipping and customer service experiences against Electronic Cigarettes, Inc.), so I know its not just the one company.

But, I have found a new favorite e-cig, so I'm happy. I don't think I'd ever go with another 510, but I may... some day.

Glad you are pleased with your new Kr8s! It was my first e-cig and, although I didn't stick with it, I don't regret starting with it. The Kr8 makes the transition into vaping much smoother than to have to worry about atomizers and filling cartridges with e-liquid right away. [Same reason I learned to drive with an automatic transmission, although I learned to use a manual shortly thereafter.]

Those cartos can be refilled with juice, you know (which most of us do to save money). And it's pretty easy, using Doggsbody's Carto Cap (aka Condom) technique, as demonstrated here by Doctor Vapor:

Thank you SO MUCH for showing me this video! I'd heard of condom filling from others, and have read how its done, but I was worried about overfilling and whatnot. I was also worried about ruining the carto. Seeing it done just blows my mind and suddenly I want to fill every carto I have. LOL Thanks for showing me a new trick, and in a way that takes the fear out of learning it!
