The vast information on this site is overwhelming.

I don't mean to come across like an ..., but I'm finding the information available on here too vast for me. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I currently smoke between 15-20 a day. I've looked through the various threads here, even the ones specifically for new members and I still can't make heads or tails of it all.

For example, I found a site that sells e-cigs and I found a kit on it. The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
If I were to buy this kit, would it include everything I need? Or would I need to buy refills aswell. If someone could basically just tell me what to buy and what I need to refill it so I don't run out in a hurry. I would be eternally grateful. I apologize in advance, I realize that a lot of people on here went to a lot of effort to make this place a valuable source of information. I'm just finding it too difficult to comprehend.

Hi Ewol - that's a nice kit. Before some-one comes in telling you to get something else - you've picked a good kit. What you will need is some e-juice tho. I'd suggest looking through some of the UK vendors on this UK Vendors list. Thanks to Chrissy from the UK forum for that.
Buy some small bottles of juice - 5-10ml each so you can try different flavours.
The cartomisers are refillable - after a while you'll need some more, and maybe more clearomisers if you like the clearomiser.
Once you've got 5 posts in this forum you might want to check out the ECF UK forum.

And happy vaping!

Hey Ewol! I'm new here also. I have studied and studied all this info. Gradually came to learn some things. First, come on here regularly and bit by bit you will learn. I'm not sure if the learning ever stops. Second, you will find various differences of opinion, but check what most people say. Me? I just recently ordered two ego twists, 2 vivi nova's, a charger, adaptor, tank cone, and juice. Well, others will differ, but thats what I finally decided on after all my research.

Looks like you are on the right track. Seems to me this kit you're looking at is a good price. All you will need is juice to get started. Clicking around the site from your link, maybe with a little research you can find a coupon code to use to make your purchase a little cheaper.

I'm very new here too! Yes, this place was completely overwhelming at first. I'm learning everyday from all the reading I'm doing. I'm here all the time lately! :) Lot's of nice people here, very helpful and like to answer any questions you will have! Welcome to ECF!!:vapor:

Welcome! Yes, it can get very confusing on here. Vaping has a learning curve. Most people are trying to help you avoid the mistakes and $$$ they've (we've) spent; but in the end, what I like might not be what you like - and there are new toys coming out everyday. My two cents is to get a good, basic kit, and then move up to more sophisticated equipment when you're ready. There are those who will insist that you must buy the best first, but in my case, I'm glad I started small, so when I moved up to Twists and vivi novas I had something to compare them to.

Hi Ewol. You have selected a good beginner setup. This will allow you to get your initial learning done with a trusty device. You will also require liquid to use in either the clearomizer or in your supplied cartomizers. For a gauge on the consumable portion of your device you will expect to use anywhere between 1-5ml of liquid per day. The cartomizers generally will work well between 3-10 days of regular use. The clearomizer can be disassembled and cleaned, and should work well for about two weeks to a month or even more in some cases.

The Riva has both 510 and eGo threading. The inner smaller threading is 510 while the outer perimeter threading is most often referred to as eGo threading. The larger batteries like this can also use low resistance attachments(atties/cartos/clearos etc). This will produce more heat and allow more efficient vaporization of your liquids. I do advise you to also get one plain 510 atomizer. They come in useful when trying new liquids, the atomizer will allow you to drip three or so drops of any given flavor for testing puropses. This way you dont have to waste an entire cartomizer or a clearomizer full of liquid you may or may not like. You being new to all of this, an atomizer would be a good tool to help you easier identify a liquid that you can commit to a carto/clearo without having a whole lot of fuss.

If you have any other questions just ask. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I got that kit and some juice, used a coupon code thanks to kiwivap's link. Saved a few quid.

Might have been a bit impulsive, but I figure the best way to learn is to just dive right in. Also the sooner I cut down the smoking the better. It's catching up to me now. Desperate to stop really.

Thank you for all your posts. I'll let you know how I get on.

Hello again Ewol. Just so you have a working knowledge of most topics why not take a look at some of the beginners info here New e-cigarette users Archives - ECF InfoZone . This is one place to kind of "pool" a whole wealth of good-to-know information. All this without having to muck through a few hundred thousand or so posts.

Well sir, you started out smarter than I did. My 1st purchase was a v2, not bad, but I would have chosen differently if I'd come here first. I've been on this forum a week, and my head is stil spinning! There are so many makers, models and juices, you can't but help to be overwhelmed. Couple that with [information overload] both good advise and good intentions, and it can leave one confused. No one device is perfect, but there several that work well. Looks like you made a good choice. As others have stated, all you need right now is e-juice. If you smoke 15~20/day, you MAY want to start with 18 mg. juice.

Above all, put down those nasty analog cigarettes and welcome to the world of vaping!

Welcome to the wonderful world of vape. As you already figured out there is a lot more info than one person can take in. That's why there are thousands of us in here. Sounds like you got a good start. I went all out and have only been vaping for about a month but now have 8 or 9 (i think) The main problem will be finding the right all day juice you enjoy to keep you happy and healthy. Lots of vendors out there. Don't go overboard with quanity till you find what you enjoy. My best wishes to all that are here for support and information. This is the best place you could ever go to for all the above. If you have a question all you have to do is ask and you shall receive an answer from someone. Happy vaping.:vapor:
