Tell me about it! :)

I'm last in line this time. :(

Awwwwww. Hang on, dear one, it will be soon, and it will be worth the wait, as you know. I'm so happy with the replacement chassis. It does what it is supposed to do and I'm rocking it with the 1.5s.

Last nite I was in a club with a band playing that often used a fog machine. Oh did I have fun NON-stealth vaping right in the middle of the room and in front of the band!

On a more serious note, I am very concerned about our Eastern friends and the weather situations. A moment of pause, a deep breath, and a sincere wish to all who are going thru this. We wish you well.

What kind of world are we living in when AG doesn't have the answers to our vmod questions?

It doesn't seem right!

The only thing that could make it not hit as hard, would be a higher internal resistance. It doesn't seem like anything changed to make it higher. This might sound odd, but try washing the unit in hot soapy water. If there are any oils or foreign materials on the contacts, it could be causing a problem.

Ok, I'm a newb read alot on this forum still. So I don't remember what thread I was reading dark thirty this a.m., but it kinda made me a lil apprehensive about the batts since I am now using and charging them. Here are just a few that stick in my head:
I charge mine in a fireproof bag that I bought.
I charge mine in a pan.
I check mine all the time while charging to see if they get warm.
I would never charge mine unattended. (I did, had the charger sitting on my bed, I was outside)
There were more, but like I said it was dark thirty.

OK, are these batts that unstable?????????????????? If they are that unsafe, are they being used because that is all there is?? I know this might not be the best thread for this, but you all use these so I'm hoping that someone will put my lil fears to rest.

Shoot I'm gona get me a long extension cord and charge em in the neighbors driveway. They aren't home!!

Don't worry yourself too much Kat, our power went out around 10am ESt and was back on at 2PM. Seems like the worst is behind us at least in the southern states. Maybe a little tidal flooding but most people who live on the water are pretty savvy when it comes to keeping the water out. Thanks for the kind wishes.

Hope the mailman has my vmod Monday, but I'm not looking for it until later in the week, it usually takes a few days to get back to normal.

One in a million batteries will cause a problem.

Use a multimeter to make sure they aren't overcharging.

You have the rest covered.

I think you might have misread the post. Vikki isn't taking those precautions, those are comments she read that concern her.

But as AG said, there is a small chance something could go wrong and you'd have a catastrophic violent meltdown of a battery. Any electronic gizmo has a chance of burning down your house. I've seen TV's shoot fire out their tops, but I don't know of anyone who watches their TV in a fire proof bag. I think most peeps don't worry too much about their batteries and charging, although I wouldn't charge on my bed. Just working normally the batteries and chargers produce a noticeable amount of heat.

Ah...reading & tending to other things strikes again!

I use a TR-001 charger & set it on a shelf by itself. I don't (usually) leave it plugged in when I'm not around. I do check the batts with a multimeter, but not every time.

There are a number of other precautions I could take, but don't.

Vikki, there are posts and posts about Batteries 101. Wish I had time to look for them, but I must take a nap now. (Going out again tonite. The party animal never stops.) Someone else here may know (AG?) the particular threads to which I'm referring about battery knowledge. The ones we use for the VMOD can be either 'protected' or 'safe' chemistry. The "good" ones are AW IMRs which are SAFE chemistry batts, but unprotected. In a nutshell, it's always a good idea to play it safe when dealing with a potential fire hazard. As AG said, it most likely will never happen, but (dot dot dot).

Read up on it, and you'll become our battery expert. Of that, I have no doubt ;)

Nite nite nap time.

I had already given it a bath when you guys suggested it, it was drying actually.

While the assembly line production residue could be an issue... I think the fact that I can't blow air through it as easily makes me think there is an air flow issue with my new chassis.

Hopefully we hear something when Brian can get back to us.

Thanks e1, guess I'll pull the extension cord back over the fence :) :). Won't charge those on my bed no more tho. Sooo many chargers for everything in our life these days, I just never gave it a second thought until last nite/this morning, just 1 more thing charging...
I am using the protected batts, as a newb I thought that best, and do use a trustfire tr-001. So I'm good... Don't have a multimeter, not sure if I've ever seen one b4, LOL.

I'm glad the worst is behind you highspeed. I see a post where gotvapes is shutting down for the storm... Mother Nature is nothing to play with. She is the boss !!!!!

Have a good nite Kat :)

I'm not gonna lie...I rode it around half of the afternoon!

EDIT: they are scooters now...you are dating yourself! ;)

Mopeds had pedals like a bike, you had to pedal to get them started. If they ran out of gas you could pedal but, you better be in shape to pedal far. The moped was the original DUI cycle. Scooters, you just start them up and take off like a motorcycle.

Hey All I am very sad I didn't get my new chassis yet:( Did you guys that got your chassis already get an e-mail or a notification of some sort? if so I haven't even got one of them yet..?? I can't wait to get my Vmod working again because it is the best carry around PV I have found... On another note I just broke down and bought some of the 14250 batts to try out once I get my new chassis in sounds like I may like it from time to time:)

I too was in Irenes path and we are doing fine here we lost power for about 3 hours latnight and have had a ton of downed trees and branches but that is about it. It did however take me almost half the day to clean up my front yard:( And I coouldn't even begin to worry about the back yet... I hope the rest of the folks in Irenes path fair as well as we did here:)
