Man , I am fixing to give the VMOD up . It is leaking like mad and I have gone through 8 cartos in a month . Put a new one on last night and it has all ready quit .

You should call Vapage and try and talk it out.
There has to be something going on if you're burning up Silos this quickly.
Those things should last for weeks in my experience.
As far as the leaking, have you vaped without the shell on it?
Seems the best way to isolate the problem.

Just a thought.... I can understand if you decide to call it quits..BUT it does not make sense for some of us to have no problems and then you are having so many issues. Would you consider another VModer trying your unit out to help troubleshoot if Vapage cannot help you out?

Praying for updates daily! First thing in the morning to do is refresh vapage.com!

FWIW, I received an email early last week from Vapage that they "hoped" to have up the new site late last week. Then received an email from them again last nigh stating they "hope" for late this week. I was in need of a new cone because mine has started stripping and they referred me to the fact they would be for sale soon.

The first one I had never leaked and it was the old ones then it quit about the time the new replacement's came out . Now the new one is leaking but that does not bother me as bad as the carto's going bad . I can not aford to buy 10 carto's a month to vap . I even changed juice to see if that would help but it did not . No need to send it to anybody with my electrical back ground unless I send it back to the company .

Okay, if it's coming out the top, there is a problem with the large upper seal. First, disassemble and take the silo out without moving the upper seal. See if it's blocking the slits on the bottom of the silo. If so, you are tightening your cone down too much and pushing the seal over the slits. This could also contribute to premature silo death since juice can't get in, so they can run dry and get burned out. You could try trimming down the top seal so it's shorter as well. Also, make sure it fits tightly around the silo (turn it inside out if needed), and make sure it and the silo are clean and dry so you get a good seal. Remember, nothing on this mod should be tightened beyond encountering resistance. Any more than that, and you can mess up the tolerances.

It might not be getting in. Fact is, that squish sound could just as easily be (and probably is) the juice squishing past the top of the seal and into the body. If the juice was getting in the carto fine, all your juice would be in the carto, not leaking out. The other big clue is the cartos dying early. They just don't do that when they are getting fed properly. Right now, I have a silo that's been running 6v for over two weeks and another on 3.7 that's been running 3 weeks. In fact, between 3 VMODs as my only PV's for a month, only one silo has died. The reason? I was out and about, ran out of juice, and pushed it trying to squeeze every last hit from it. It stopped firing and I took it apart to find it...... bone dry. I have a friend that got a VMOD over 3 weeks ago. It's attached to his hand - if he is awake, he's vaping it. He goes through a bottle a day and is still on his first silo.

ok. Well, every drop of juice in the body is a drop of juice not in the carto, so something is very wrong. Especially if it's flooding the body AND you can flood a silo to the point of 'easily' getting a mouthful of juice. That's a whole lot of feeding. And of course, overfeeding will also cause it to leak like mad as well as kill cartos prematurely, no matter how well the seals are placed. From what you are saying now, that could very well be your problem. Just trying to help.

you can also tell if it's getting into the carto by squishing it while upright (to push the juice into the carto) and then immediately taking the carto off. If the connector well in there has juice in it, it's probably not feeding efficiently, it should be relatively dry in there.

Great point! That will also tell you if you are overfeeding or honking the bottle too hard or too often.

After all the hype and a few months of watching this thread I took the plunge! Purchased a new/unused kit from from vapefest in vegas! I assembled the unit and soon noticed it has a cracked chasis above where the bottle connects.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions on this, I'm pretty frustrated right now!

Thanks

Vic- sorry the seller did not disclose the crack to you :(

Vapage took all the new goodies to Vapefest as you know, including the colored shells. They will not be up on the site until end of the week...soonest. It is normal to return a defective item as I'm certain Vapage wants to inspect your chassis for QC issues. Pop it in the mail and they will send you a replacement. :)

After all the hype and a few months of watching this thread I took the plunge! Purchased a new/unused kit from someone who picked up a kit and extra shell/atty cover from vapefest in vegas! I assembled the unit and soon noticed it has a cracked chasis above where the bottle connects.

I contacted vapage and was told I would need to send this one back, when I tried to explain this was a new one picked up at the show, she indicated they only took the newer version and that the red shell I also got is sold seperately, I think I knew that, but they aren't for sale on site, so how would he have gotten that?

I'm waiting for a response on whether the original buyer has any paper work, cc receipt or anything to show the purchase as I feel the seller is a regular ecf'er and I didn't question.

If this was in fact purchased at vapefest, I'm pretty disappointed in vapage for not selling the current version at the show.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions on this, I'm pretty frustrated right now!

Thanks, Vic

I wouldn't be as concerned about purchasing a used one from the classies, but this came from vapefest.....not cool from vapage to take these and sell them.

Just got word from the seller, no paperwork from vapage on this, he purchased the mod and the extra red shell at the show, no where else to get those, they aren't on site.
