Is this o-ring placed above the threads against the base of the cone?

BTW, a very informative post, unlike a few others...
You got it iffy:headbang:!! This o ring slips over threads and rests againnst base of cone, it keeps the cone from screwing all the way in, to prevent pushing inner oring. It does leave a lil' gap exposed between cone and base(but still sealed up), but I came to the conclusion, I would rather see a gap:?: than joose on the inside:facepalm:!!!!

Guess I'll have to revisit Lowes and look for a thinner O-ring. I got some a few weeks ago to try on the bottle necks. Turns out I had a busted bottle. I got one that fits on the cone, up against the shoulder above the threads. But, it will not thread up, too thick. I have cut some seals out of condoms just a little smaller that the stock silicone seal. That seems to work good........

The one I'm using on the cone came from Lowe's, it was in a spring and seat kit. Here's the kit info,.....Brass Craft, O/S Seats/Springs,#0081. Hope that helps!

I got a call from Brian last night. He is still in China but wanted to follow up with and see how the Vmod and new atty's he sent are working for me. We spoke for quit a while and came to an agreement that is more than fair in my opinion, he is a super cool guy and dedicated to making sure every customer get's what they pay for. I am 99% sure I'll buy one of the 18650's versions when they are available. We also got around to the topic of dripping and he suggested using the hybrid with a drip-shield (and adapter)....genius!!! It works great, you can really load it up between drips and you still get all the great performance from the hybrid atty.

I thought the O-ring for the cone a brilliant idea, Tat! But Home Depot is 10 minutes away... I'd have to make that trek?

What did I have handy. Hmmm, let's see. Oh right! The upper seals from Brian/Vapage, and guess what. They work flawlessly for the Conehead mod!

So, in REVIEW, the upper seals now have a dual purpose. Seal kits are only a buck 99 at Vapage, and for those who abhor the drive and experience of shopping in a mega store like Lowes or HD, or those who travel by horse and buggy, online shopping at Vapage is definitely the way to go.

O RING...#5-1/4x3/8x1/16 around the carto, and an an unknown size around cone threads, so it doesn't push inner o ring so far down and doesn't force the cone thread.....Working flawlessly for me:2cool: Not a single sign of liquid ANYWHERE, and it creates a seal for the feed to work better than before:blink:

I'm not stressing yet. Sounds good. I know exactly what you're saying. I'll look for one, thanks. Is this a std "size"? You think they'll know what I'm asking for at an ACE hardware?

I just cut a notch in a Boge with a Dremel with a "cut off wheel", now that I'm confident of what's inside. That's a cheap tool and a very fast job, and it works fine. The only caution is to watch your fingers, mount it in an old battery for cooling, and preferably stick a vacuum cleaner hose nearby to catch shavings. Man, that fine mist vapor, and taste, are just incredible, I can never believe those first drags, why shouldn't I say it? They only last a few days, especially as I tend to over-juice 'em, but at a bit over a dollar, who cares?

The atty is fine, and more durable, but the feed through the fluting is a bit sluggish with VG, and doesn't quite live up to the carto on flavor. This is probably good enough for now. I'm not dumping my Echo-E on eGo batteries, but it makes a good rig ;-)

It sure is a std. size Fernand, just look at the o ring bins(individual packaged) for a #5, and you'll be fine:2cool:

Well, y'all, I'm very happy there's open discussion and a lot of ideas. I'm happily vaping the Vmod with a Boge, the cut mod is easy, and it seals well enough for now with the factory gasket, pending a hunt for o-rings. Others are happy with Vapage Hybrids, Joyes, Kangers, Silos, Resurrectors, etc. So that's the best of all worlds. I'm off to the studio with a Vmod in me pocket.

I cut a couple of thin condom "o-rings" and installed 'em on my V-Mods cone bases and they're smokin'! Day-um, what an improvement...

Thanx for da hint!

4) For people having trouble with the blue batteries' overly high positive terminal causing the ON-OFF lock not working (and the push-button being too easy), after putting in spacers for days, I found an even easier solution (doh): insert the battery upside down. Polarity is immaterial, it's just a heater coil. Apologies if it's been suggested before.

@Fernand, OK that makes it official... You are my "go to", Vmod, McGyver man! :D

New findings with regards to leak based on my experience. I took out the seal is suppose to hold the bottle top when u install it Into the vmod and found that i have lots of free play, meaning the seal isn't actually tight on the bottle mouth. Did a few twicks and Wala! Problem solved for my so called bad leaking!!

Honk if you found a slitted Boge 2.0 good, 'cause when I testify they're to a Vmod like jelly to peanut butter, there are some people here who think I'm some kind of BogeMan plant.

Sneak vape #6538. At Japanese restaurant. Take a deep drag and exhale with your mouth over the warm miso soup. Looks like it's lovely steam from the soup.

I got my shell on,but I got a rubber band on the shell top-bottom to hold it in place for now,I'm feeding it because I'm working on something to prevent leaking. At all above the material I'm using, the cone will not go on,but that's ok for now,I will work on that tomorrow at my dads shop,I will say that it might not even be the same cone at all.I'm tired, long day will keep you all posted.
