People who are new to the Vmod, especially those who are having trouble and asking what to do, are IMHO best served by truthful info and tips, so they CAN enjoy it.

Which is exactly what was going on in this thread when you arrived.

Don't you think it's better for the Vmod than bubbling on about how everything Vapage offers is perfect, so that the happy ones can join your choir, while those who KNOW they are having trouble are only left the option to slink away and dump it?

No one here has claimed Vapage to be perfect. If you read the thread, we helped them uncover and correct a number of things, resulting in a replacement chassis and improved seals.

I think the main problem most of the Vmod owners who used to frequent this thread have is with your tone and way of going about your criticisms. We have gone about this thread in a helpful and cheerful manner. You are the one who keeps making snide remarks and taking pot-shots.

I would like to see this thread go forward in a constructive and positive manner. Perhaps analyzing your style as closely as you've analyzed the device might help. I'm sorry you haven't had the experience that most of us have had with the Vmod, but it's no reason for you to go scaring people away from the device.

It was Fernand's objective, inquisitive and direct manner that prompted me to buy two V-Mods. There are only two reasons I track this thread anymore: to follow his V-Mod investigations/suggestions and to check if the next improvement is out yet.

Tsk, tsk... how dare he try to improve his PV and share his findings!

IMHO, a very small number of you have really been unfair, if not down right rude. Perhaps, that in itself might be what is 'scaring' folk off...

We have different approaches, but we ALL like the VMOD and use it (and use it .. and use it).

I apologize for having repeated some issues, but new people ask the same questions, which indicates they haven't gone back and read past posts. I type fast, and I think it's better to say something that's been said before, than not answer their questions. It sure wasn't the first or last time discussing resistance and watts.

@AG, you and I are never going to agree. You seem to want people who have had problems and are looking for solutions to keep quiet now, since you've "helped them uncover and correct a number of things", like 2000 posts ago, and it might "scare them away". Well, clearly not everything is corrected. I sure didn't come here taking pot shots at you. The material here was so blissful overall, I thought, dang, this device sounds like the immaculate vapception. I was more than a little sceptical and held off buying a Vmod.

When I got the Vmod and found a normal number of production and QA issues, I felt a little deceived, and thought it wasn't really fair, this being a review thread, that issues may have been mentioned briefly and then vanished, and to be told to go look for previous posts when I wonder about things. Very few people have the time to read 3924 posts. I'm a technical guy, I live to observe, understand issues, and correct or work around them. I think that's a good way to help people use the Vmod. I'm not alone, other people are enjoying sharing their findings, like about new ways to seal the unit. Let's just stay out of each others' way. After all, we're all VMOD users.

Good morning Vmoddians! How is everyone? Sorry I haven't been around much. It's not as comfortable here as it used to be and I find that a sad state of affairs. I adore my Vmods. I hope soon Vapage will have their own forum and can condense the tips & tricks so new folks don't have to read this entire thread. So many pearls can be found in these pages! For now, this is what we have and I hope all will take their differences off privately and this thread returns to the camaraderie it once had.

Please know that Brain is busy working in China. It must be very frustrating to have "China" change specs, which has happened too many times. So many good things in the works and I do not have permission to share atm. Just know Brian and the team at Vapage are working hard so we have the best vape gear....period.

I'm thinking Christmas is going to be great with Vapage this year! ;-)

"The DOA issue of the Hybrid is not a DOA at all--it is because the pin specification got changed from the supplier (no reason other than it's China!). All one has to do is pull the pin down just a little and it works just fine. This, too has been fixed for this run. It was made too short, now it is back to normal size. (See photo)."

Thanks for your help AlmightyGod and Fernand....sorry if I pitted the two of you against eachother or something. Anyhoots, I decided I'm going to keep one of the VMods and my Wood cover, and sell one VMod and one cover with accessories on the classifieds. Not sure if I wanna sell the Black or Red, but def selling the silver. Maybe I'll give the buyer an option for either black or red, since I like them both. We'll see....I do like the Vmod a lot, don't get me wrong.,,I just don't think I need 2. I REALLY LOVE the wooden one, especially the feel of it, it's so soft and smooth :p

Here's the link if anybody is interested: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/classifieds-swaps/238992-vapage-premium-v-mod-system-box-w-vapage-v-mod-la-carte-w-o-chassis-plus-extras-4-your-tube-mod-s.html

I had a hybrid atty which was truly DOA. I tried moving the pin down just hair and still nothing. I then pulled out my multi meter and checked resistance, open circuit. No big deal, I contacted vapage and sent it back. Iwould hope they replace it. In the mean time, I took a dremel to a boge carto, works pretty dang good!

@nubeeRes, FWIW I'd say keep the black. The red is just anodized and more fragile. I've dropped the black on grainy concrete with only a few shallow pits to show for it. It's a very good tough finish, like an epoxy paint. A few daps of marker pen, and it looks almost new. BTW, you're not to blame for anything.

@tierra, welcome back!

Today's experiment. My juice is all VG, I don't even bother to thin it. It's very viscous. I lifted the barrel higher and ground down some areas on the fluting of my 2.2 ohm Joye atty. Pushed the barrel back down. With just 1/16 exposed at the junction (below the barrel on which the vertical gasket rests), in addition to the fluting itself, there are now some deeper channels for thick juice to feed through better. The 510 threading tightened, no leaking down into the air passage; sqirshing just goes easily up into the atty, just as on the factory ones. Working very well. Love that little plume of vapor when juice hits the hot area. There's nothing to wear or change much over time; it should last.

Santa Rosa, CA the North Bay!
I miss the old vmod thread.

If it wasn't for AG, Scotay, Hariball, TeaRose, Kat, especially AG, and a couple of others helping me out in the beginning and not giving up on me I would not have just bought "Another" vmod off of the classy's, as I would've given up... Their help was/is invaluable to me.

I am not a technical person, I could give a rats ... how it works as long as it works. I just want something that I can put together and vape. I don't have the need or urge to take something that works for me and change it. Nothing is perfect, ever... I don't think there is 1 type of e-cig/mod thingy majingy that I have gotten that hasn't had an issue sooner or later. As long as I know where to go to get help when I need it, and where I don't feel like I'm being talked down to I'm happy.

All I Know is that I can buy vapage silo's and atty's, screw them in and vape my friggin brains out!!!!! This is the ONLY mod I take out with me. It is perfect for me, for that...Besides I have bling'd it out and I love showing it off :)

This thread used to make me laugh and look forward to being here.

That's All *POOF* I'm gone

Wanted to correct something. I thought the wonderful black finish is epoxy. Apparently it's not. I'm not sure what to attribute the difference you can see here to: the red has only been used a few times, the black has been screwed and unscrewed truly countless times. You can also see the sort of "lacquer" quality to the black finish. I can't wait to try one of the "rubberized" ones. Maybe Santa will help.

@Viki, if I'd had the same luck and satisfaction as you with the unit out of the box, I too would be happy to just vape it. Please don't take offense at my working around what didn't work for me. From the PMs I get, I know I'm not the only one. If you had had more trouble, wouldn't you love to find that 1) you're not alone and that 2) there are solutions right there? It's not "disloyalty". We're getting there. It's all for the good. Vape on!

You are not alone Vikki!

I doubt truer words were ever typed. Nothing is perfect and I think in general we vapers are trying to get that analog experience in a vape. What is simpler than striking a match? Vaping is just not that easy and has too many variables.

I say kudos to the Vapage team. They DO listen and DO work on improvements. Brian just told me a few days ago how much he appreciates all our help in finding the things that need improvement, but he also appreciates the product line not being bashed in the process. How many mod makers put out a product and "it is good enough"? Unlike most mod makers, Vapage has to travel to China to get the changes done. It's not just a short walk out to their shop. The changes I have seen since July have been pretty incredible considering the "shop" is half way across the globe.

Vikki don't go, there are some Vmoddians that would miss you!
