Did you get that thing in production yet Dan? Or you still recovering from cheerleading?

LOL, done with the cheerleading thang :)

Have it almost ready, want to test it at 7.2vdc, need to try the coating also. This .5mm stuff is fagile, need a better suport system to avoid the many breaks I have had. Will post more soon.

@jj, as I said no harm no foul. No need to crawl back under the rock! We need developers!

JJ... I apologize for assuming that you were not joking, but if one looks at your post it is hard to tell if that was indeed the case. Except for the roll eyes emoticon which shows sarcasm and not necessarily that one is joking, it could be interpreted as hostile. Thats the problem with forums and blogs, without hearing voice tones and such it can be deceiving. I in fact had to take another look at 420's post back when she posted it originally also. If I didnt know the fact that there is PG already in mouthwash and toothpaste, I would have though she was serious.

But hey...no big deal man...no problems here. Enjoy the forum, dont crawl back in a hole.LOL

was going to say the same thing, but Nico said it great :)

but, I did have to add... someone WAS trying to vape mouthwash! :p found that little gem on the "not a good idea! sub-forum

Glad to see everyone is playing nice :nun:

Dan 7.2V should make a big difference.

nico keeping the coil turns close greatly improves the efficiency and heating as the coils couple the heat to each other. What was the resistance of your coil?

This table will help you determine what you can expect as far as temperature goes.

Remember I = E/R where I=amps, E=Voltage, R=resistance
example 36 awg wire
4.2V/4 ohms = 1.05 Amps
according to the table this would be 1400 degrees F. This is aprroximation and it would actually be higher because you are using a coil.

Your wetting wire should fit snuggly in the tube. Also I found that solid wire seems to work better than twisting wires together as it seems to form a better thin film of liquid along the glass walls.

Looking forward to seeing Dan's results with the higher voltage.

Just got a quote back on micro pumps...

Hi Daniel
Thanks for your email.
I’m based in Boston and can respond.
The pumps cost $280 for a 2-pack, plus $35 shipping and handling. The pumps are in stock, and we can accept credit card payments.
Let me know if you need a quotation or have any technical queries.

Regards
Richard

I would have to say this is the perfect pump for our needs, 3vdc .45ml a minute And tiny.

Dan here is a pump I've been looking at:Xavitech - Intelligent pumps Sorry if I butted in.
LOL

No worries, I just tried calling them and no answer, and then the phone cuts off. Not a good sign. What was the quoted price, that is if you were able to get a quoted price? I see the max flow rate on the P200 is 30ml. I am wondering if that is at max (26) volts. And I wonder what the flow rate would be at 3.2 volts.

Hmmmmm if 30ml / 26vdc = 1.15ml per volt
1.15 * 3.6 = 4.14ml/min that is if it is constant.

Very close to that other pump I was looking at.

Holy chit $142 each. Did you try for a sample? Yea that's the same pump they were using on the german ecig site. Anything made in the UK is always incredibly expensive. It almost has to be expensive since they are on holiday half the year.:D

LOL my responce:

Hi Richard,
I am making a prototype for a possible production run that would use this pump, is there any way to get a sample?

Way ahead of you LOL
Dan

ADDED:

His responce:

Hi Daniel

We get several requests per month for samples, so unfortunately the costs were such that we had to decide to charge for the pumps.

Dan, did you ask about what range of viscosity of fluids the pumps could handle?

No, it is a peristaltic pump, basically 2, 3 or 4 rollers squeeze a tube in a concentric circle to push the fluid along. I dont think ejuice will be a problem.

Yeah I understand that, but it would still have its limits. I guess at the very least you would just have to thin the juice well.

That gif is soooo mesmerizing...soooo pretty...SNAP OUT OF MAN!!

Considering they said it woul work with oils, I do not see a problem with the viscosity.
It is pretty huh... awwww oooooo pp uu rr dd ee ee

Just want to make a quick observation here. Since making the high voltage modification (a few pages back) on the stock wizard I have not seen any of the normal falloff of vapor production (the dreaded clog issue). I need to modify another to be sure, but as far as the stock wiz, this looks very good and is not hard to do. Unfortunately the stock battery enclosure will not hold protected batteries.

To be honest I carry it everywhere. Work has no problem with it. When I go out in public, bowling or stores, I use my chameleon runnning at 6Volts with a KR8 cartomizer. Not really much of a comparison as the wizard blows everything else out of the water. I will mod one more wiz and if it works as well as the 1st I will mod another and send it to you nico.

BUT only if you will give an honest video review for us all to see.:D
just let me know if your up for it.

Negative!...Two things I dont do...answer the infamous "does my .... look big in this outfit", and put my mug on video. Trust me, you dont want me rambling on camera. Hell it takes me like 30 minutes to write this much. Maybe I could write up the pros and cons, but thats it until they come up with spell check for the mouth.

I noticed somebody else doesnt do vids either....

OK my apology for puting you on the spot. You just seemed like the best ...Doubting Thomas I could find to push the issue. When you 1st entered this thread your questions and inquisitive demeanor lead me to beleive you were skeptical (and rightly so). Based on my tests I think we may have a winner. Granted it does look like a ........ but it does work very well towards the end result. I'm thinking maybe Scubabatdan would be a good candidate or maybe SV.

I can't commit until I mod another, but If I see the same results, I would be happy to mod and send to either of these guys as long as they would do a video review (I'm not made of money so there would be some cost incurred, but only out of pocket and no time). I'm not doing this to make money. I'm doing this because it saved my life.

I have no doubts at all it will work...although I am told often I always see the negative side of everything. I guess it comes from many years of troubleshooting everything from cars to multimillion dollar equipment. I just like to understand both aspects and interject if I think a base isn't covered or sometimes just to plant a seed of thought...i.e...be a PITA. I consider myself pretty good at being able to tell if something will work or not and I have predicted (accurately) some of the mods presented here over my time here just would not work out...some of my own included...so I just ignored them. This is obviously not the case with yours...thats why I am still that obnoxious bassturd hanging around. I am quite impressed with your skills and advances made with the Wiz and envy you for following through with it. I wish I could do the same with mine but one problem I have is once I figure something out and verify it works I get bored with it and look for what I can get into next...ADD..I guess its called. lol

I just have never been a spotlight kind of guy C...sorry. In school I despised book reports in front of the class...and essays...I always opted for the "F". Like I said, I could do you no good on a review...your work deserves better than that.

On another note... I though you had abandon the stick and was going to repackage this thing? Thats why I mentioned making it like a PT to avoid the bulk and shape and could be any voltage...but maybe I'm not seeing it. OTOH...portable is good too. I wish I could help you more.
OK...my one finger is hurting from all this typing now so end rambling.
