A lurker just checking in to say that I'm greatly enjoying this thread and look forward with great interest to anything more about this device. Thanks Charged!

Thank you Mister. It's people like you that makes the work mean that much more. I'm not promising the ultimate VP, but I honestly think there is a worthy alternative here to what is currently available for us vapers. I'm just looking for alternatives to the battery holders with a different cap on them.

Hey, Charged, thanks for the alcohol cleaning tip. After 4-5 refills I noticed it gets slower, and the vapor is less concentrated but seems to come out the top for longer-the signposts of goo build-up.Been steam cleaning with DI water, but the alcohol sounds more thorough.
I am wondering if colored fluid can be run in these if it were thinned a little more than usual? Getting several more later this week, sounds like experimenting will be rampant for a bunch of us!

I would like to thank you for you work on the Wizard stick . And for sharing the results with us here. I don't post to much mostly read others postings. I like to voyeur the mods section a lot see what others are doing and how they do theirs . I've made my own mods and have been working on a atomizer that will rival Carlos's Fantastic juice box I hope so far it has lasted for 3 months . Its a flow threw like his and has a juice pump . So I'm really interested in any new atomizers that peeps are investigating . You have done a really wonderful job so far with the wizard stick and explaining it inter working for everyone and me . I ordered one the night I read the posting it hasn't arrived yet but I'm waiting to see the vape on it . Might be fun to vape on with my friends that vape like a party .... lol. Thanks again it's members like you that really help the e-cig community work .

I would hope that Joker will be paying attention and close that old thread so that we can keep new comments here. I am working on some good stuff based on this device to come soon.....

Come on...put that thing down long enough to tell us. :p I think the preheating concept of that thing has potential. You dont drip raw fuel into the combustion chamber of an engine...you atomize it FIRST...right.....

I'm being serious when I tell you. This device ROCKS. If you have AA recharegable batteries hanging around you have to try this. The liquid you put in must be thin. Check it against the liquid shipped with the device. If you use liquid that is too thick it will clog and your all done. BUT if you pay attention to the liquid thickness you will be rewarded with the absolute best vape you've ever had.

You should be dandy with that clarity of liquid, just make sure to thin it to the viscosity of the 'super fluid' it comes with! I generally add a little bit of distilled water, eyeballed-not precise. Otherwise, you might get burned by globs of flying HOT PG/VG on your face, or clog the device, either way-no bueno...

I have not proven this but, I think the clogging issue has more to do with thickness of the liquid than the color of the liquid. Just make sure the liquid is thin. Add some distlilled water or vodka to thin it out. I don't think it could ever be to thin.

Here are some modifications I do to make this device more user friendly.
1st thing is to move the LED to the base so it's not blasting you in the face with the bright light.
  1. Using needle nose pliers. Lift each side of the wire holding the LED in place out of the small grooves in the side of the tube and turn the LED so you can see the wires through the top of the tube. Try not to let anything hit the wire connected to the atomizer.
  2. Using a pair of scissors. Cut the wires to the LED and remove it.
  3. Remove the screws from the base and the one next to the switch.
  4. Pry the base open/split it apart enough to pull the battery copmartment out.
  5. You will see yellow, red, and white wires running up the base. 2 of these wires will have clear shrink tubing on them where the wires were spliced together. The wires with the shrink tubing on them are used for the atomizer. You want to cut the wires that do not have spliced connections on them. 1 wire will be yellow and the other wire will be white. These wires provide the voltage to the LED. You hant to cut them as far up the tube as you can to leave some length for you to work with.
  6. Spread open the spring wire holder and remove the LED from this holder as we will use it later for something else.
  7. Splice the wires you just cut to the same color wires on the LED and cover them with tape or tubing so they don't short together.
  8. Push the LED up inside the base then re-install the battery holder in the base and screw it all back together.
When your all done the LED will illuminate the base and allow you to easily see how much liquid is in the chamber and you won't have that light shining in your face.

Some times you will have liquid that does not atomize very well and it will tend to splash or hop off the atomizer instead of turning to vapor.

We can use the spring that was holding the LED in place to build a deflector to keep any liquid from splashing or hopping out of the tube.
All you need it a stainless steel wood screw, A plastic dripper cap off of one of your e-liquid containers and the LED spring holder. See the pics below to build yours.

Hope that helps.

Wow that is a great idea, I had seen these before, but never thought of using one like this. Going to have to get 1 or 2 and join the e-.... club.
Any other ideas that people have about these would be wonderful, and as I learn with mine, I will add to it as well. Might have to get a few, as I have a few ideas that may or may not pan out, time will tell. And just wait until I deploy with one of these, lots of time on my hands to tinker.

Will it still work if you just remove the LED completely, or take it out and short the wires?

Yes it will work fine without the LED, but DO NOT SHORT THE WIRES.
There is a current limiting resistor on the circuit board but shorting the wires is a bad idea.

There is alternatives for the liquid splatter and light problem.
These funnels from Dawn at DIY flavorshack fit exactly in the end of the tube. You can choose which way to insert it. It somewhat resolves the light issue and also eliminates the spash issue. This requires no solder or mechanical abilities.

Awesome! Thanks for the updates! I ended up ordering two of these earlier today and got notification that they shipped already! Woohoo! :)
