I started vaping in April this year so this is my first fall/winter with vaping. Seems to me I'm noticing that as the air is getting very dry (only 21% RH in my place right now) I seem to be having issues with feeling a little "chesty" and sounding a bit hoarse. It reminds me of similar things I felt or went through during the early quit smoking/start vaping transition weeks. It's nothing hugely significant. But I was wondering if this is something to be expected while vaping during the dry winter months? Is it more difficult to tolerate vaping when the air goes very dry?

I'm trying to adjust my vaping style around this even, trying to inhale as little as possible. (The vape that is...)

If it matters to the discussion I'm using 100% VG only. Can't use PG.

Is this a seasonal thing? :( Any tips?

I'm no expert at vaping, just starting out myself. Read somewhere else on the forums here that vaping can dehydrate you. While it might not be your exact problem the dry air and dried out body made a 1+1 light go off in my head.

Two suggestions maybe to get the relative humidity up in your place a little bit. The good old stand by of either boiling water/letting the shower run with the bathroom door open/putting a tin of water on the heater. I know my aquariums get sucked dry by the dry winter air here in Ohio.

Just my input, I have never been dry a day in my life until I started vaping. This being my first winter too I will be curious at the replies you recieve. I have increased my water intake considerably, but also live in a wood heated house and am having for the first time ever dry skin problems and just in the last week or two a tightness in my chest as well. I tend to think that its related to becoming dehydrated from vaping.

I am a bit sensitive to dry air already and yes I notice it more now that I vape. we had a dry summer. the air semmed even drier than it is now. make sure you keep up drinking lots of water and use a humidifier. the vicks humidifier is what I use and it works very well. so well it even keeps up the tempature in the room. my sinuses get so dry it hurts and can be hard to go to sleep so something else I do is put a little vasaline around the outside of my nose. don't use vicks because it might feel better at first but the menthol in it is actually dehydrating. if you have a scratchy throat some sugarless hard candy here and there will help for quick releif.

Haven't noticed anything yet here with the dryness..... Usually we have had a bunch of snow by now. Instead have been having rain so the humdity hasn't gotten that low yet.

For lack of a humsifier if your bathroom is close to the bedroom can always run the shwoer on super hot for a few minutes. Be good for getting to sleep but likely still be dry in the mornings. :(
