Hi just wanna start this tread for all the guys in this renowned ecig site & as well as a roll call for who among the members are from Dubai...

By the way guys; Electronic Cigarette is not that famous here that's why it is so disappointing that we are left behind when comes to knowledge. Thing more is electronic cigarette is illegal in this country.... Lotsa lots of guys bringing in good goods but only few were lucky & most were the angry guys... The good guys always say "Go Back to Analog Smoking" where it is legal.... Isn't it damn ....ty move. Right?

Anyways its the law & must go abide with it. One thing I know Im one of the lucky guys & a proud Dubai vaper...

Oh yeah Dubai Stallions are the best!!! Just be sure not to put in your mod in your hand carry... Always put it in your baggage & never let the juice touch your metal.... ya know what I mean...

The UAE is a very progressive country -if not the most progressive among gulf countries-, I'm surprised they've made ecigs illegal too.

I can understand the Saudi Ministry of Health banning the import and sales of PVs and liquid as the public is always in doubt of everything new. (I remember the times when satellite dishes were "smuggled" into the country just like drugs and firearms).

Maybe there's a common denominator here.. To elaborate, cigarette imports in Saudi Arabia are controlled by ONE prince (known to interfere in every business in the country, from housing projects to gas stations.. 50/50 profit or your business won't be licensed, period!)

Maybe cigarette imports are also controlled by a Shiekh in the UAE and they see it as competition too

Hi guys I'm new here in the forum and also a new vaper. Does any one already traveled to dubai carrying e-cigs because I will be traveling to dubai this coming wednesday? I just bought a lavatube yesterday and just heard/read earlier that it is banned in dubai..Is it going to be confiscated even for personal consumption? please guys i need your advice.. thanks in advance

I don't think it is illegal to have electronic cigarettes here, just to sell/buy them. I bring all of my supplies from the US whenever I take a trip there.

Last time I was passing through Dubai, I was stopped at Customs before exiting the airport. Oddly enough, a gentleman right in front of me was ALSO stopped...what are the odds? Anyway, I had A BUNCH of vaping supplies with me, and I had my mods in my backpack, but I had my cartos in their own Pelican 1060, in my big bag.

After a while, I was asked where "the cigarette was", because all they really found and pulled out were my cartos. I had my Provari, Silver Bullet and eVic, so I pulled out my eVic to show them that. One of the customs agents picked up an eVic and pretended to vape it (while holding it like a cigarette, LOL) and didn't quite know what to make of it.

After I explained, I was told NOT to bring them with me next time, or else they would be confiscated, and destroyed. I think the only reason they let me go was because I had another flight to catch in a few hours, so they didn't think I'd be selling them (which I didn't intend to).

So that's my story.

I tried looking up laws, but I was unable to find anything on HAVING ecigs, although I did find something that stated it was illegal to sell them. Even that source didn't seem all that credible. So, what are the actual laws?

e-Cigs r not banned in the UAE. Yes, just like in many other nations, (viz. the US, Canada, the UK etc.) there's a lack of knowledge, perception and cohesive unity among manufacturers & vapers alike that made it unregulated (yet) and produced an "Advisory Notice". Which is 'viewed' as a "ban" by the 'not-so-suave' authorities.

That said, many retailers & online B2B sites (within the UAE) continue to sell these wonderful products. I'm listing a few below. And they haven't been approached by an/y authority to stop doing so. Which definitely helps & asserts UAE's position on the issue. I travel between the West & Middle-East all the time... And I did carry my e-Cig last time (doing again this month)... Dubai scanners spotted it (quite smart/alert/advanced security system I must admit) and I was questioned (queried actually). When I explained, produced the catalogs, adverts. & flyers (which I carry in my travels), and that in fact it was nic-free (SmokeNV) - they were indeed amused and let go. I must mention here that one of the IO's even got interested & kept those flyers with him (to fetch one for himself, LOL).

Thus, no one stopped me, just queried. Which is understandable given the knowledge/awareness of e-Cigs (or lack of it) around the globe currently. However, the point to be noted here is that I carried the minis... 'cig-a-likes'... if I was spotted with a 'mod', things could've been different. Why? B'coz of the strict anti-drug laws they'd've 'viewed' it as a "delivery method" for something else - and that'd've been difficult to work-around.

BOTTOMLINE: There's no 'ban' in the UAE. But yes, there's a significant lack of information/publicity, which causes trouble not just in the UAE, but in many parts of the world. Being prepared (for travel with e-Cigs) helps.
