Interestingly, Robert Conrad did all his own stunt work. The guy (can't remember name) that played Artemus did all his own disguise make up!
My mom, who I miss terribly ADORED Alf. When she was coming toward the end of her struggle with Ovarian cancer and was on high doses of Morphine, actually halucinated that she was ALF. She did word per batum monologs of the show. Wish they would rerun them! Forgot for a sec, but she even named her cat LUCKY.
I got The Hub channel on dish network SPECIFICALLY to watch ALF!!! Back to back episodes everyday!

Such a nice memory! Sorry for your loss no matter how long ago or how recent. I was not a huge Alf fan, but I loved the WWW and Alias Smith and Jones and a lot of the ones that have been mentioned here. I like Castle now because it reminds of some of the older shows. I was a Rockford Files fan as well and Matlock (he reminds me of my dad who has passed) and oh so many more.
Prime time is horrid now. I watch some of it but I am very happy I don't have younguns around to watch TV. The values I hold dear have passed by the wayside. Sad, cause I think morality, honesty and such things are really good values.
I not only watched ALF as a kid, I had the plush doll from (I think) burger king, which came with a flimsy plastic 45 of some middling ALF themed pop song, if I remember right.
After and before my time: after my kids were gone and before the grandkids arrived. I'll check Netflix . . .

I wasn't watching tv at that time period, I was into "other" things at the time.

I happen to like cats but, the women next door is a cat rescuer. With the three little death below the ankles wiener girls we have, its funny, nary a cat in site. Which also reminds me of Lassie and Rin Tin Tin.

Alf is still cool. A quick Google search reveals it aired from 86-92. I'd have lost that bet. My boys were 4 and 9 when it started. No wonder I watched it.
