Went out to a comedy club last night. Was a no smoking establishment (it is California after all LOL) After the show I went outside to wait and vape while the non-smoking group took care of the tab.

Other people came out to smoke. I don't think anyone noticed my blue LCD as they were all from the same group and were talking. When hubby and the rest of my group came out we were all standing around talking and saying good bye when I noticed several people in the other group were staring at us. It took a minute for me to realize it was my e-cig that caught their attention. We continued our conversation, with me vaping the entire time, and went to leave. I glanced back over at the other group and they were all staring at me. I paused to see if anyone would say anything but then just averted their eyes so we left. It was a little awkward but kind of amusing. :)

The best part was the group we were with is pretty anti I usually get some kind of "when are you going to quit" comment during an outing and they were supportive of vaping in place of smoking. :thumb:

I usually just get the stares from people. I just think its amusing when I'm at the bar or a show and I can see people across the room looking at my blue LED and then seeing a nice little cloud and the confusion that follows. Fortunately, I live in Michigan where only a few restaurants are non smoking, so I haven't had anyone tell me to put it away.

I gotta try it! I only recently found out about e-cigs, so if I saw such a thing across a room, I would have stared HARD. Then gone home and searched the internet for an answer.

I'm thinking I should hit the movie theater and give a good puff right when the "cell phones off ad" runs.

If you look anything like your avatar it may not be the ecig causing the stares!

Neither here nor there
I was at the Waffle house here in Alabama the other day eating breakfast and I did notice all the stares that I was receiving.....and the Wafffle Houses here still allow tobacco.

Anyone remember when the cooks used to smoke in the kitchen?

Mmmmm, love the little cig ash peppering my eggs. NOT!

Well, was vaping in Canadian Tire yesterday. Noone said anything but one looked at me and kinda chuckled.

My plan is if anyone asks me to not smoke simply look at them, blink and say "But I'm not smoking. I am exhaling the same thing that comes out of fog machines" Then for effect put my hand over the blue led and take a pull :) Although if asked to not vape by management. I will put it away and vape outside. I don't want it getting a worse rep than it already has.

I love to see the expression in some people eyes when I walk into a market and I place my E-cig into my shirt's pocket after inhaling.Only one guy ask, did you put a cig. in your pocket , is it still there? I LOL

Had this happen walking into WalMart didn't think anything about dropping it straight into my purse as I was exhaling... the lady walking toward me looked like she was going to have an apoplectic fit!!! She didn't say anything tho. Think she was trying to figure out if she really saw what she thought she saw. Hope she wasn't on Chantix!!!!

Someone from my building (I'm going smoker's etiquette, despite the ok by my company) saw me with it outside, gave the stare...

Don't be shy people! He just had no clue what it was, I saw him looking, and just said "electronic cigarette - wanna see it?". I took it apart, showed him the parts, explained the liquid, the feel, etc.

He's looking into buying one now! Share the wealth (of knowledge), tell your fellow smokers when you see them staring :D

I did the same thing before I walked into Walmart. Took a bit hit, exhaled, and dropped it right in my purse in view of some people that were walking close to me. I didn't look at them though, so I don't know what the loo on their face was. :p

I have NEVER seen an e-cig before. Ever. Evereverevereverever.

The closest thing that I had seen was a nicotine inhaler that my mother had when she attempted giving up smoking.

If I hadn't found out about e-cigs online and saw someone smoking one - I would def. be a person that would walk up and ask a billion questions (then rush home and buy one xD).

I've gotten to the point where vaping is no longer that grand new experiment it is when you first start so I tend to just take it for granted. But every once in awhile I'll see someone stop cold when I'm walking into a store and take that last drag then just put it in my pocket before going through the door. I've never had any negative reaction either, in fact my friends think I should go into business. When I do get asked questions the conversations almost always end in my writing down urls where they can get them (no kids or teenagers of course :)).

Although one great story happened last week, we had a cable repair guy in our house and while he was going through all the details I took a drag and he literally dropped the coil of cord he was holding and stopped the convo cold. Once I explained to him what it was, I didn't bother waiting for him to ask, he got all excited about it and we took 15 mins while I showed him a few sites on the computer where he could get one.

That's an excellent story, I hope that most people feel the way that we do, and I think that they do. I see a lot of people here that are more than willing to explain over and over to everyone what a PV is, and I think that it's great.

Please don't anyone ever get tired of explaining to people, we need all of the understanding and exposure that we can get! I know that some of you who have probably been vaping for a while may be a little tired of the same "yadda yadda" that you have to do, but it really helps us all that you keep doing it!
