I disagree with author as far as the terminology is concerned. A lot of things people do 'today' have ridiculous terminology that is now acceptable: tweeting, facebook....I could go on. However, the reality is that we are still considered by society as 'smokers' using a different way to get our addiction. And even if vaping is pretty much harmless, we are perceived to be weak and to most non smokers, pathetic. That's the way it is and we are that bad. But....we all pass judgements on people for what we see as weaknesses....and everyone has one or many. Unfortunately, too many people who are all too ready to condemn other people forget to take a look in the mirror at themselves.

It probably would have sent a deafening message to Stuart Heritage (stage name ?), and his Editor, on his resounding value as a mature journalist , and comic genius if his 'article' had been left barren of comments-!!
instead, he 'attracted' 3 pages of protest and counter protest, and nonsense.
-WHUT ?!?!

(He's more than likely sitting at his desk right now with the article open on a browser page-flicking his 'Leather-man' 'Fighter Pilot' 403S 'Assault pliers' like a boss, and snickering-like a goofball).

And vaping is just the tip of the awkward e-cigarette terminology iceberg. The website Ecigology (itself a terrible word that deserves to be bludgeoned to death) has a glossary teeming with ridiculous new words and phrases. It's a world of "carts" and "cartos" that you fill with "smoke juice" and accessorise with "a drip tip", being careful not to "flood your atty" and diminish your "throat hit". Imagine being the sort of person who actually talks like this. It'd be like living your entire life inside an Australian remake of A Clockwork Orange directed by Chris Morris.

Or perhaps directed by Jason Healy?
