The 'breakthrough' Nanowire batteries (Nanowire battery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) should be coming out this year. Bad news: They're first going to be made for things like laptop batteries and electric cars. Good news: Laptop batteries and electric cars use 18650 cells.

There's also Lithium Sulfur (Lithium). I've got a feeling these are what Imeo's going to be coming out with, which would make him one of the first. Frankly, I'm amazed that he's got the time to make GGs and work with a manufacturer to put out GG batteries. The man is a machine!

The new tech I have been looking at is Graphene electrodes. The researchers at Northwestern University are basically building on existing Lithium Ion tech and getting the 10x additional storage in the same size units. By simply punching holes in the graphene sheets, they are making the atoms travel shorter distances and then combining that with a silica base, quadrupling the nimber of atoms each graphene atom can handle.

So a typical 3000mah 18650 becomes 30,000mah. Conversely, they can take the same tech and make the same units 1/10th the size it is now. I am pretty deep into cellphone tech (from an enthusiasts perspective as opposed to industry involvement) so the prospects of a smartphone that only needs to be charged once a week seems closer to revolutionary tech as opposed to evolutionary.

Plenty of data on the NWU research but here is a link that gives you the basic premise in a short fashion: Graphene improves lithium-ion battery capacity and recharge rate by 10x

Or how about a 7000mah Stealth? The possibilities are endless but as alluded to earlier, the real question is whether this and other tech will be regulated out of reality courtesy of lobbyists and corporate wrangling.

If it ever sees the light of production day, I am sure that damn pink bunny banging his drum will be extorting 10x the price at least. I mean really, look at the price of a lightbulb using led tech. Ah well, would still be worth it for the convenience in many daily use battery powered items.

i'd never go from a GG to anything else now, but the idea of this tech going into look-a-like e-cigs.
For the best part the peeps that return to anologues after trying a cheap kits is because of faff and under-performance.
IMO it can only prove fruitfull for more peeps to make the switch and the actual death of the anologue.

i just got some sanyo 2600mah and panasonic 3100mah...
Panasonic NCR18650A 3100mAh Li-ion Battery [NCR18650A] - $9.97 : Led Flashlight-International Outdoor Store

Sanyo 18650 2600mAh Li-ion Battery [18650 Li-ion battery] - $5.85 : Led Flashlight-International Outdoor Store

Interestingly, the sanyo's seem to perform better and "lasts" longer than the 3100 pannys. I usually swap out when i feel my vap isn't 'hot' enough. and thats bout 3.9v when i meter them.

Seems like the Sanyo's maintains voltages above that for longer than the panasonic's 3100.

Note: I got them to install the protection circuit for the Panny, and with the new sleeve it's a very very tight fit into the GGTS. Also cause it's longer, might not fit all chargers.

Can someone point me to the new batteries???? I'm curious to know what you guys are talking about?

We don't have anything to point you too yet strpr but you can be sure that as soon as Imeo has them available, you'll see plenty of pix, spec's and reviews! :D

What? New buttons on stealths? Why was I not informed of this? I'll need a couple of those, especially if they are the flat button with the adjustable throw :) and some SS buttom caps for GGTS... I almost bought a stealth for it, if I realized the button was new, I probably would have bought one  Oh and SS GGTS with SS endcap, "by Imeo" on the side, with the new buttons too.

GGVV :D :D :D pwetty pweeeeeese

Ha yeah Imeo designed a new button but was only able to make enough for the Stealths and I am guessing the GGTS he shipped. It was mentioned in a few places but it was kinda almost an under the radar thing.

I agree 98765432123456789% on the VV thing.
