So after a week of dealing with the horrible burning taste, I think I have it figured out. First I removed the wick from under the bridge, that seemed to work, but the taste came back. Today I removed the bridge all together, and still had the nasty burning taste and smell. I cleaned my atty completely out and dry burned it until absolutely nothing was coming out of the atty, just the coil getting bright orange. Presto, no burning smell or taste, just a hot atty. I loaded up my favorite juice, and initially flooded it since I removed the bridge.
Once the atty dried out, the burning came back full force (burnt my throat too). So I have decided the burning is from cooked juice on the dry atty coil, it just has to be, I don't have anything else in there to burn. It's just weird to me since my other atty that came in the kit has never had the burning taste, I just don't understand that, but at least now I know how to use both of them.
