So, thank god my SID came in today, cause I think I killed my eGo. I've been rebuilding my Phoenix to try and get the best vape possible, pretty much rebuilding once a day. I made this amazing, almost perfect dual coil that measured in at 0.7ohms. Without thinking, I threw it on the eGo and took a hit. Well, the button started to flash and kept supplying power even after you released the button. So, I ripped the atty off, and let the battery sit. I smelt a real bad burning smell, and that was that. Now, the eGo won't power up, so, unless it rises from the dead over night, I am officially calling it dead. Good bye first PV, I enjoyed you well!

So what do you think went wrong? I'm thinking about rebuilding mine but this frightens me! LOL!! I've grown rather attached to my batteries! Yikes that sounded bad!

I strongly advise against using RBAs on any eGo class batteries. Period. You really need an APV if you want to use rebuildables.

The ego battery is majorly dead, 1 ohm is the cap for egos, and like Katya said, it is highly strongly advised by me also to NOT use an RBA on an ego. It is so easy to kill the battery with them. I would retire the ego because unless you know about ego circuitry and can isolate what burned out and fix it, its pretty much become a paper weight. i apologize for your loss.

For the record, this was like, my 30th rebuild and I was experimenting. Forgot to do calculations before hand, but did them afterwards. Came out to about 4.54 amps, so way over the threshold. I personally haven't found a clearo that I like. Course, i've only tried a few. One gave a plastic taste on everything, the other held too much (still trying to find my all day vape). My biggest problem using RBA on a APV is that, unless it's a mech, you can't get low ohm coils to work.

Oh, and I let it die peacefully. And by peacefully, I mean I took it apart gracefully for the connection. And by gracefully I mean I ripped everything out so that I had an empty eGo head. Gonna use it on a flashlight mod i'm working on.
