Rob, the kit you're talking about- how long does the battery last before being charged? How often do you need to replace the batteries and switch? They are 3.7 v, correct?

I have a friend that's getting a kit and don't know enough about the epower to recommend it although it sounds good. I think when all of my ego stuff dies I'll get one.

Which do you recommend, the 14650 or 18650?

The batteries are 1050 mah. When I first started vaping, I was vaping all the time, it was always in my hand or in my pocket. Id get about a day and the next morning on one battery. Now that Ive been vaping for alittle and arnt taking a hit every other min Ive been getting about a day and a half on one battery. A few days Ive been really busy at work and have gotten over 2 days out of one battery. EVen when I was vaping a good bit I still got at least a full day from one battery so the batteries that come with the E-Power arnt bad at all. I was impressed with the stock batteries. I do have a 14650 High Drain Battery too which is 950mah and works well too. I put my batteries back on the charger when they get to around 20-25% left. I normally just put in a new battery every morning and the one I was using normally has around 25% left at that time. I use a multimeter and check them. You can get the multimeter than madvapes sells on ebay for about $3.50 if you look for the cheapest. Or pay $4.50 and it comes with a 9V battery. Thats what I did cause I didnt have any and didnt want to have to buy them at the store. It does ship from China but it only took about ten days. Its cheap to be able to check your batteries and ohms of attys/cartos. They last longer if you dont let them drain all the way.
As far as replacing the batteries and switch I havent had to do either yet. The non-proprietary batteries Ive heard can get up to 1000 charge cycles but Im not sure cause I havent had mine die yet so I dont know how long they will last. They def do last though and you wont have to replace them often. Im still using both my originals daily and havent noticed any drop in performance yet. And their only $4.50 so their real cheap to replace or buy an extra if needed.
The switch, like I said, seems to be pretty good too. Im still using my original. I bought an extra from CCV for $9.50 a few weeks after I got the E-Power just to have it but havent had to use it. With the free shipping from CCV its pretty cheap to get a spare. Im prob going to order another tomorrow too bc the new one has the 5-click on/off which would be a nice option to have. Its been able to handle anything I put on it, 1.25 ohms, Ressurectors, the 1.5ohm Dual Coil thats designed for the E-Power, 2.ohm DCs, etc. I prefer the Ressurectors and they hit really really well (When I said above I get about a day to a day and a half on a battery thats with the LR Ressurectors, so with a SR they should last even longer). And yes the E-Power is 3.7V. It is marketed as a regulated 3.7V, but I have people say on here that they dont think it is. Regardless if it is or not, and I dont really care, I think it hits really consistantly. I barely notice a difference between a fresh battery and a battery Ive been using most of the day.

Between the 14650 and 18650 I like the 14650 more but thats me. When I got mine they only had the old 18650 which def had problems so thats one of the reasons I didnt get the 18650. Also I dont like that its bigger. It does have a 2200mah battery though which is nice and I heard the new one supposedly is alot better and doesnt have problems. I havent used it though so I dont know for sure.

I know this website has the new one in crome if you wana check it out. I dont know any other vendors that have it but someone prob does. The new one has a bigger button switch and it uses the 18650 batteries which are easy to get.
The only difference is just the 18650 will last longer than the 14650. So it really depends what you are looking for I guess. It is harder to get replacement parts for the 18650 though. For me I like the 14650 bc its smaller so its easier to carry when your out and its easy to get spare parts. And to me the 14650 batteries last plenty long enough so I dont find it worth it to carry a bigger PV just so my batteries could last longer. ANd its really easy to carry a spare on you so you never have to worry about running out. So to me I like the 14650 more but its whatever your friend would want more. The 14650 is cheaper too and the deal from CCV is sweet. And like I said from the previous comment, once you get one since it comes with 2 batteries, you can buy a tube and spring for the tube from Hoosier and another switch from CCV and have a 2nd E-Power for cheap. You can also buy a second cone but I barely use it so I didnt buy another. I ordered the tube yesterday so now Ill have a black and SS one. Oh and I just remembered too, Gotvapes sells a spare kit that has a tube for 14500 batteries. So if you have any of them for another PV you could get that so you can use them too.
I think you would really like the E-Power swedishfish. It gives awesome hits and the maintanace over time really is cheaper than an eGo/Riva/kGo because of the much cheaper batteries and replacement parts. It really is an inexpensive, but satifying PV. I am happy with it and ive compeletly stopped smoking cigs. I really dont even know if Ill ever buy another PV bc I am satisfied with the E-Power. If I do buy a VV or something at one point it would really just be out of curiousity to try something else, not bc I feel I need more, so I think you will really like it.

Anoob 2 - Its funny you say that, I just finished college in May but do work in sales now in a financial firm:laugh: I do think you would like the E-Power though for all the reasons stated above. It packs a punch but is still very simple to use so thats why I think its a good PV for a beginner or someone thats looking for alittle more omph than a slim ecig or eGo. I recomend it to people bc I find it to be a great ecig. Im not affiliated with CCV or anything, I just found their deal to be awesome and Andrew is also an awesome guy and I had a really good experience with it so I recommend it. I know there are higher voltage/VV and more expensive PVs but for the price, features, and how it hits I love the E-Power. I know some people recommend to buy a Provari or something right away, but I honestly dont think I ever need too, and thats why I recommend it to people. Im plenty satisfied and didnt spend close to that amount of money. I know some people like to keep buying different PVs but for someone that just wants to get a quality PV to get them off cigs and not spend a ton the E-Powers a nice choice. I def think for some people the E-power will be satisfying enough for them to get off cigs without ever having to drop a lot of money for something like a Provari and thats why I recommend it. I get all my cartos from CCV too bc Andrew has a carto guarantee. Any problems you have he will replace it no questions asked, he really is a good guy. He doesnt even make you send back the bad ones. The 15 carto deal with a free syringe and drip tip is awesome too.

I hope this helped some for both of you!
Let me know if you have any questions

Goodluck!!

The E-Power 14650 is great. Mine is the stainless steel model. The finish is brushed steel with polished steel trim that will match a stainless carto. How long the battery and filled carto will last depends on your carto and your usage. I smoked a pack and a half a day.

I can get the 1.7 LR XL carto (sometimes called "resurrector") to last all day between fillings but lately I've been adding some juice or switching to another filled carto before the end of the day. Run these 1.7 LR XL cartos too dry and they will burn. You may as well toss them out if they do. I refill these cartos 5-7 times before the taste starts to go south.

The 14560 protected Li-ion battery is a little workhorse. You can purchase these batteries from the E-Power dealers or from many other online sources. I purchased a couple of sets of TrustFire protected blue 14650s from FocalPrice yesterday: $8.42 per pair w/free shipping. A 14650 lasts me at least 24 hours before swapping out to another charged battery. The wall charger sold with the E-Power 14650 has an excellent charging profile terminating at a safe 4.14-4.17VDC. The battery is barely warm after the charging light turns green. I ordered a handful of these at very reasonable cost from Hoosier e cig supply and will stick them into a power strip for a true six channel charger.

The latest incarnation of the E-Power 14650 switch features a hard plastic button lighted by a white LED. This switch model has been out for just a few weeks now. It has a lock-out feature that allows you to safely carry the PV in a pocket without risking an accidental power-up. Pressing the switch quickly five times disables the power switch. Pressing five times quickly again powers it back up. Nice. The switch feels good, tactile detents provides excellent user feedback.

I'm very impressed with the E-Power 14650. The stainless steel metal work is quite well machined and finished. The only thing I would improve is the battery spring located at the end of the battery tube. A better tempered steel spring is needed, especially because the length of protected Li-ion 14650s can vary a couple of mm by manufacturer. I had to remove the spring from my E-Power and give it a little stretch a couple of days ago. Works fine, now.

After testing the new E-Power 14560 white LED switch (with lock-out feature) this weekend I cannot recommend this switch with operation with the 1.7 LR (Resurrector) cartos. It's a dog. It just doesn't work with the Resurrectors, period. I went back to using my old blue LED hard plastic switch without the lock-out feature as it still works with the Resurrector cartos.

Bad news for E-Power 14650 dealers.

Otherwise, I love the E-Power 14650. It has the potential to be the best value mod out there. This is a very disappointing development for all mod fans.

Well, the first run of the E-Power 18650 had a lot of issues which is too bad because the 18650 batteries are more common than the 14650s. I'm talking about about the E-Power 14650 which is an entirely different animal, if you haven't noticed.

I would advise purchasing extra new blue LED hard plastic switches for the E-Power 14650, assuming you can find any which is very unlikely.

yzer,
Why doesnt the new switch work well with the Ressurectors? Im just curious to know why its not as good. Thats a bummer if their all like that. And is it just with the Ressurectors, or all cartos? You can still get the 2nd switch with the blue LED from a few vendors. Most are still carrying that switch. Did you get the new switch from CCV? Oh and if you read my post from before, youll see that CCV is getting the new springs in for the 14650 today. Any new E-Power kit CCV sells will come with the new spring. Its goldplated for better connectivity, and is alittle longer and stiffer, which is supposed to address the problems you stated above. Ive never had a problem with mine but did stretch it alittle so the High-Drain battery would fit snugly since their 2mm shorter than the stock batteries.

jQside - like yzer said, your referring to the old 18650. Most vendors stopped carrying it awhile ago bc of all the problems. Check the link I posted in the previous comment. There is a completely redesigned 18650 that just came out. Sweet-vapes.com has it if you want to check it out. Supposedly if fixes all the problems the old one had but I havent used it yet so I cant say. The new switch has a bigger button. Even if the problems are fixed, I still like the 14650. Its easier to carry and I always just carry a spare battery so I never worry about running out of power

I haven't visited that site (Sweet-vapes) in a while. That's where I got my spare kit from. I purchased the full kit from Hoosier.com. Unfortunately, both switches malfunctioned. Meaning, they died after just about a month, just about two days apart. Fortunately, I still got my VV box mod and 2 Egos for backups. Other than that, I like E-Powers. Now that they've fixed the problems, I'd be buying those new switches to resurrect my EPs. I'm now gravitating between Indulgence and EP 18650 for my next PV purchase as soon as I get the funds. They cost the same and the 18560 / 3000ma is I'm after.

No problem Swedishfish! You give me good advice all the time so I dont mind returning the favor.

Im hoping the problem yzer had with the new switch was just because it was a bad one. Its kinda strange that it wouldnt work well only with the Ressurectors. I dont see why a certain carto should make any difference. Who knows though, Im going tocall Andrew today and see if I can find out about it before I order one. If you dont care about having the 5-click on/off then you can just get the 2nd switch. A bunch of vendors still carry them and havent started carrying the new one yet. I think Hoosierecig supply has the 2nd one still. I would just ask the vendor to make sure. If it has a plastic button with a blue LED, its the second switch. If its got a white LED, its the new one with the 5-click on/off. Just make sure you at least get one with the plastic button. A few vendors are still selling the crappy first E-Power switch with a rubber button. It gets stuck and can fall out, the plastic one is MUCH better. The original switch that Im still using that I mentioned in the previous comments is the 2nd switch with the blue LED. I was planning on ordering the white LED one today, but want to talk to Andrew first to see if he knows anything about the new one not working with the Ressurectors. I know his go to PV is the E-Power 14650 with the Ressurectors so he should know if theres a problem with the switch not working with the Ressurectors. Ill post an update when I talk to Andrew

I dont think I would buy it from Madvapes either. I dont know why but Ive gotten a few crappy things from them and also DOA cartos. Hoosierecigsupply sells the spare 14650 batteries for $4.50 which isnt a bad deal at all

Yeah sweet-vapes.com is one of the only vendors Ive seen carrying the new 18650. Their the only vendor Ive seen that carries the new spare switches for the 18650 too. They have the regular kit with attys, a carto kit, and also a 18650 barebones kit which wouldnt be a bad deal if you already have the 18650 batteries and charger. They only have the new one in chrome though.

If you mean your going to buy the newer bigger button 18650 switch for an old 18650 Im not sure if it will work on it. It might, Im just not sure. I would call and ask first. And SUPPOSEDLY the new 18650 fixes the old problems. I havent used one yet so I cant say for sure. I would do some research and ask around about it before buying it to see if anyone is having problems with the new one. It seems to be okay, since they completely redesigned it but ya never know. Its worth checking at least, I wouldnt want to see you waste money on the new one only to find out it still has the same problems the old 18650 had

The ones I have now are EP-14650s. Aside from buying new switches for them, I've been looking for units to house the 18650/3000mah battery, which I don't have yet, actually. Buying full kits seems economical in the long run instead of buying items separately. So the best candidates for that and for the same price range would be Indulgence and EP-18650. I'm assuming the EP switches on both 14650/18650 have all been upgraded. I'm sure vendors are aware of this problem, like what Sweet-vapes says here:

"18650 switch, and this time they got it right! New big chrome button & unregulated voltage.
Tested @ 4.08v unloaded with a fresh charged battery."

But I'm in no rush. (The craving for analogs is gone for me now, that's more important. Vaping is just becoming an hobby. ) :2cool:

ha I def know what you mean with vaping becoming a hobby. Thats what I thought you meant, I just wanted to make sure you didnt mean you wanted to try to get a new 18650 switch for an older one you already have.
The new 18650 seems to be much better, but like I said, I havent tried it yet so Im not going to say it has fixed all the old 18650 problems. It has been completely redesigned though so I would think that it would be better.

Both switches have been redesigned too. The 14650 is on the 3rd gen switch. First one had a rubber button that was flimsy and would get stuck, then they came out with the 2nd switch which had a plastic button which worked ALOT better. Im still using my original with no problems. Now they just came out with a third one that has a white LED instead of the blue and also has a 5-click on/off. Yzer did say his didnt work well with the Ressurectors, but I havent used it yet so I cant say. Im gona call Andrew from CCV today and see if I can find out about that.
The 18650 switch now has a much bigger button. On sweet-vapes, the button is chrome like the rest of the PV

yzer,
Why doesnt the new switch work well with the Ressurectors?

Rob, I've only been vaping for a little over three weeks now. The only carto I have used with the E-Power 14650 is the 1.7 LR XL "Resurrector", so I can't say that the problem is carto specific. I have a couple of dual coils on order but they haven't arrived yet.

Thanks for the new spring info. I'm interested in those.

I purchased the two new white LED switches from two different suppliers. I emailed them detailed descriptions of my switch problems less than a half hour ago. Andrew at CCV just got back to me pronto. He says the springs are the issue here. He will be sending me the new stiffer, gold-plated (better conductivity) springs as soon as he gets them which should be any day now. In the meantime, I'm just going to use the old blue LED switch as it's working fine with the current spring.

Which one do you recommend?
I'll still recommend the E-Power 14650. That's a lot of vaping power and battery capacity for a pocket-sized unit. I like the stainless model because I just like the look of metal. The stainless E-Power is mostly a brushed satin finish which doesn't show fingerprints like a fully polished finish.

CCV will have the E-Power 14650 with the new switch available for sale again in day or two after Andrew's new springs arrive. He will include the new gold spring bagged in the kit box.

I think I might order it then. I just want to get the kit with the least amount of problems.

I do like the echo-e a lot. It's 4.2 volts and a 1300 mah battery. The only thing that keeps me from getting another one is the the resurrector cartos need an adaptor to use on the echo-e battery. That and I'd prefer cheaper batteries if I have to replace them.
