Can anyone shed any light on which items I need.

Firstly the base nocotine mix can be either PG or VG - how do I choose one above the other?

Next the dilutants - you need to order two lots with the kit - choice is aqueous glycerine, glycerine or propylene glycol. Again how do I choose and would I order the same item x 2 or mix them.

Any advice would be welcome as the TW phonelines are closed :(

cheers
Adios

Personally i am new to diy, but what i started out with was 60 mg nicotine in 50/50 formula you could also go straight pg. Personally i wouldn't go straight vg as it's SO thick, you will also need some pg, vg, syringe with 14 gauge blunt tip ( you will need that size for the vg it's super thick) some flavors and highly concentrated sweetner, and of course empty bottles. I would start off with making 5-10 mil batches so you can figure out the percentages needed with your flavors. It's super easy once you get the hang of it. I personally purchased my supplies from ecigexpress.com, highdesertvapes.com, and wizardlabs.us

Ecigexpress has a sale right now for 20% off flavourart which is supposed to be amazing in flavor.

Heres a link to the best e-liquid calculator out there, all you have to do is download it. It even comes with a huge file folder of e-liquid recipes! It's awesome!

eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

Hope that helps =)

I'm new to vaping and the learning curve is lonnnggg. (Which is my disclaimer if what I've said below is wrong)

Reading about diy juice I think I'll get the strongest nicotine I can buy as it's the pricey part of the juice so I'll use less if it's at a higher concentration (The TW Titanium ice is 72mg)

To go with that I'll also need some PG and VG (The AG liquid is VG liguid that they have diluted)

When creating your potions it's personal choice about how much of each you use - PG carries the flavour better VG produces better vapour. Unless you have a reason not to, most people seem to use a blend of both.

Then it's choosing flavourings

Then it's making sure you have syringes/bottles/gloves

Good luck with whatever you decide

I've got a kit coming tomorrow - so fingers crossed got a pg mix nicotine base, vg and PG dilutants (diluents?) and 5 flavours to start.

I've gone for pinacolada which I like on it's own. Vanilla, coffee, tobacco and blueberry. I like blueberry + tobacco and feel that coffee + vanilla on it's own or with a dash of tobacco will hit the mark.

Got a syringe aswell - Junkie:laugh:

Be careful thinking this way. Some companies offer lower nic content but larger bottles.
Would you prefer:
a/ TI, 72mg, 100ml for £39.99
OR
b/ 52mg, 250ml for £36.98 ?

Thanks Balders
When I was looking at the TW starter kits I was thinking that 100mls of nic and 100mls of PG/VG isn't really the right proportions.

I've also started to discover some other vendors with better prices.

I'm so looking forward to diy-ing pity I can't invest anymore cash in vaping until I've used up my current stash of premade liquids

what pv are you using wrenny?? im vaping 72mg titanium ice pg base, ag diluent, blackcurrant menth concentrate, i find 100%ag diluent in the mix works nice compared to an ag/pg mix (ag same as vg just thinner and pulls through the wick on my nova better), going with an 18 mg mix following tw's mixing guide then a few extra drops of flav just to get the strength up mmmmmmmmmmmmmm lurrvely, it will take some playing around, remember small batches until you get it right

Hi @Gazzatron I'm using the TW calculator at the minute. For 18mg strength 10ml quantity (all materials out of TW box);

3.3ml of 54mg nicotine base
1.7ml PG (% my choice)
3.5ml AG (% my choice)
1.5ml flavour straight or multiple blend.

I have made a straight Pina Colada batch = like, mix of blueberry and golden virginia = like and this morning a columbian coffee and vanilla blend = not vaped yet.

Now that I know I like it I will buy the higher strength of nicotine base mix so that it lasts longer.

Hi wrenny, what device are you using, I find the tw guide to be pretty much bang on. Obviously need time to tweak your mix as different flavs/diluents carry differently and people tend to prefer th to vapour and vice versa. I do recommend to follow the guide to begin with in small batches, remember if your nic is pg base that will need to be considered when mixing your ratio. when i started mixing i was following the guide but using 50pg/50ag as a diluent but as my nic and flav were pg based i was overkilling the pg, prob 90pg/10ag in the end and had hardly any vapour, find a flav you like and then tweak it. I use the 72mg titanium ice as a Nic base and only ag diluent as it seems to work really well with fruit flavour(I'm using tw's gold concentrate, cheap as chips) I also mix up in 3-5ml batches just in case it goes bad, now I've found my love I mix up 30ml, I need to get a syringe, still mixing with a dropper and it hurts my brain mixing large batches. It's hard to recommend a mix ratio as personal pref, device type, voltage, coil resistance, base type, flavour type amongst many other things will all make a difference to the result. If you up you voltage things will change again, sorry for bangin on, hope it helps.

1100ma ego twist @ 4.8v
Nova tank 2.8ohm coil
72 mg titanium ice 6 parts
Gold standard blackcurrant menth 9 parts
Ag diluent 9 parts
YUM!!!

I have read conflicting answers on steeping, some say lid on some lid off. Would love to hear peoples thoughts on this subject, this would be beneficial to the new DIYers. Also i have just bought bottles of PG (500ml) and VG (2 x 200ml) from my local Boots for a lot less than internet prices. Its also good fun mixing your own but very trial and error, I also use the E JUICE ME UP calculator previously mentioned.

since this is not yet a well established industry, many things lie in the realm of personal experiences even myths and legends ( like bakero for example ). there seems to be many variations playing a role in the final flavor, and even then when the liquid is ready you still have to find the right device with the right voltage for the right liquid. i'm getting a much better flavor steping liquids with the lid open ( same liquids same flavors same room temperature ).
