Let me reemphasize this. And be aware those in the clone mod price range are often ± 0.1Ω in error, sometimes more. That's not much of a big deal at 1.0Ω, but it's a large difference in current at 0.4Ω. Have someone with access to good test equipment compare the readings you get on your cheap multimeter.
I sub-ohm my REO Grands at 0.5Ω and 0.8Ω. The former is good for strong juices like Absinthe or Pluid where I want my socks knocked off, and vapor and throat hit are more important than flavor. The latter is "better" with most juices, meaning I can taste the nuances in the juice I don't at 0.5Ω. The former fogs up a room, the latter doesn't and is safer for work.
Honestly, a PITA genny is the last device I'd use out of the house, but then I drip all day long, one-handed even when driving, with my REOs and the RM2 RDAs. If I didn't have them, I'd be looking at a Kayfun style on a tube mech.
If this is just a toy to play with with your friends, it's not so important, but if it's going to be a life-saving tool to keep you off tobacco, you need backups. At a minimum, carry a pre filled, unpunched carto in its condoms, or better yet a full clearomizer or carto tank setup. You need something if a coil fails until you can get to a multimeter and rebuild. I usually have a disposable dripping atomizer nearby for my REOs.
Finally, use the fire button lock. If the mod starts getting hot quickly, get off the fire button until you can determine the reason.
