Make sure you get a multimeter so you can check the resistance of your coils and the voltage on your batteries.

Let me reemphasize this. And be aware those in the clone mod price range are often ± 0.1Ω in error, sometimes more. That's not much of a big deal at 1.0Ω, but it's a large difference in current at 0.4Ω. Have someone with access to good test equipment compare the readings you get on your cheap multimeter.

I sub-ohm my REO Grands at 0.5Ω and 0.8Ω. The former is good for strong juices like Absinthe or Pluid where I want my socks knocked off, and vapor and throat hit are more important than flavor. The latter is "better" with most juices, meaning I can taste the nuances in the juice I don't at 0.5Ω. The former fogs up a room, the latter doesn't and is safer for work.

Honestly, a PITA genny is the last device I'd use out of the house, but then I drip all day long, one-handed even when driving, with my REOs and the RM2 RDAs. If I didn't have them, I'd be looking at a Kayfun style on a tube mech.

If this is just a toy to play with with your friends, it's not so important, but if it's going to be a life-saving tool to keep you off tobacco, you need backups. At a minimum, carry a pre filled, unpunched carto in its condoms, or better yet a full clearomizer or carto tank setup. You need something if a coil fails until you can get to a multimeter and rebuild. I usually have a disposable dripping atomizer nearby for my REOs.

Finally, use the fire button lock. If the mod starts getting hot quickly, get off the fire button until you can determine the reason.

I've taken the time to read everything and make sure I know the risk of going mechanical, I won't give up if its not how I planned the first couple of days lol. What is a good geneiss style atomizer to use? I've been suggested Rsst

I've been using The Russian and LOVE IT.. After a few days of learning it's been the best thing ever. I'm using it on a Nemesis (Not clone) On a 1.4Ohm coil 28g wire and 100% cotton wick.. Its honestly the only thing I'll use now. I put my Provari in the box and my iTaste 134.
But it's been a long learning curve finding the right thing for me

First, I'm glad you found something you love and works well for you. I'm just a little confused. The post you quoted was asking for genesis suggestions, and you suggested a russian, which isn't a genesis style atomizer. Also, if your resistance is 1.4ohm, you could run it on both your provari and 134 and supply it with more(or less if choose) power than a mech, even one as nice as the Nemesis, with the added benefit of regulated voltage(the same all day) and safety features.

Yeah, this thread has strayed a tad from what the OP asked.
