The "Q Mini" is a good choice. (disclaimer: I own two of them)

I own a number of single and dual battery YiHi powered mods. Outside of a few "Boxers" almost all of them are YiHi mods. Outside of killing my first SXminiM after 6mo's of service I'm happy to report nary an issue with any of them.

I should note that YiHi chips operate differently than other brands. They use PWM (pulse width modulation) to regulate temperature. This forces the user to adjust the Joules output to be "reasonable" for whatever build they are firing. Otherwise simply setting the mod to maximum output and "letting the mod regulate" will likely result in noticeable "pulsing" of the vapor output. (some claim a "rattlesnake" noise)

The pulses of high end YiHi chips are many:
  • set and forget resistance lock. Unlike other mods the resistance is REQUIRED to be locked. Once locked you can remove/install the tank as many times as you'd like. No nagging questions, no mod "fine tuning". Change coils or tanks and simply lock in the new value.
  • The measured/locked resistance is EDITABLE by the user
  • One of the better "dry coil" detection schemes
  • The "Q" has true balanced charging
  • Nearly all the adjustments are available on the mod itself. No need for a PC unless your trying to enter a "power curve" or some such.
  • Out of the box the mod can be setup and fully functional without a PC within minutes
  • >=9V output voltage
  • While the specification still reads 0.3ohms as the upper limit (from the Ni200 days) high end YiHi chips can temperature regulate 2.0ohm builds
  • If you set the device to "Joules mode" the device will REMAIN in Joules mode. A YiHi chip will never "kick you out of" a mode and revert to power mode.
  • On most/many of its "flag ship" chips YiHi releases firmware updates
  • ALL the buttons can be LOCKED. (no firing or changing wire types or temperature in your pocket)
  • The mod can be POWERED DOWN.
Thanks, sounds great.. the Q is out of stock, not one seller has them in OZ, but by chance i saw the G, 3 in stock, and within 1 hour there was only one left, so i jumped. We'll see how we go!

Personally I think you made a great choice with the G Class, I really enjoy mine even more so than the Q Mini it replaced.

I really like my Finder DNA167 as well, maybe a little more in TC than the G Class but it is close. For factor wise the G Class is so much more comfortable for me though.

The battery door isn't the best thing since sliced bread like DJLsb says but it is still good. You have to push the locking bar back then in manually, I would expect better for the price of the mod. Mechanically that is my only knit pick of the mod.

The joystick takes a little time to figure out but once you do it is brilliant. I would suggest reading up on it and watching youtube vids on how to use it before your G class arrives.

I do enjoy my DNA mods, I have 4 of them, my favorite being the Finder 167. If I was forced to choose between the Finder and G Class it would be tough. I would probably pick the G Class as I just love the form factor, screen, joystick and ability to fit 30mm tanks. I would not be mad to keep the Finder though, it is just not as comfortable to hold and I don't have small hands if anyone is wondering.

interesting.. i got the finder 250 and really i would have been happy with 167 and non stuck buttons..
so indeed, think vape are a respected brand, yes?

i also like the ability to fit 30" flushl. i'm going to be rocking the most unusual mtl on the g - a kanger aerotank turbo running 2 x 0.15 ohm vaporshark nickel mtl coils, so it will come out at 0.075 ish ohms.. i bought like 5 packets of those coils last year before they seemed to disappear from the world... just like i grabbed a bunch of the VS nautilus mtl tc coil. A 0.07 ohm mtl at around 40 watts and 420F, will let you guys know in a couple of days when i've got the mod! 30" looks crass on the finder, so yes really looking forward to that. On the flip side, i am concerned that 22's might look silly, cause yihi use the massive metal plate.. if they just had a small insert in the mod that any size tank covered, then any size tank from even 19 to 30 would look fine. But i'm not so sure with metal "underhang" on the sides. we shall see.

i'm even tempted to try the dna250 revision, the VT250S, which is now available on flash sale at gearbest for 100 USD shipped

Now thats a Sweet Deal! I don't like the look or feel of 3 18650 mods or I would get one of those :)
I saw a link here on the ECF some were & the new VT75c is on preorder for a nice price :)

but the 250S can run in slimline dual battery DNA 167 mode, it becomes a really nice ergonomic dual battery mod, OR triple DNA 250 mode. It really seems to be THE killer dna250, as well as having a very cool yellow colour with metal strips.. The black looks great as well.. i would have loved it in a racing red! (ps this is done by simple inclusion of two different battery doors).
Also, just saw a cool pic of the mod front on, it looks exactly like a transformer.. so if you're into sci fi, and a much better look than the shaver of the first vt250, this could be a cool mod.

U.S.
If you are looking into a YIHI reg device and dont need TC and dont need higher than 60watts (sorry if you mentioned higher needs, headache) Ginger Vaper has new with warranty SX Mini's S Class for sale. THey are the older ones, but these have a great track record. They function wonderfully.

I just got one a couple weeks ago. THey are selling them for 99.00. If you do want TC, there are still many of the M Class SX Minis around for about the same price or you can find one used for sale for around 50.00. I just picked up and M from a seller on FB. Excellent device, so well made. The M has TC and is heavier because its all SS. The S class is a bit lighter as its made of aluminum and SS.

Just thought Id share

If TC is your highest priority, You need a DNA, The Yihi board with the PWM just isn't in real time like a DNA :)
It's only not as good if you don't use it right, set your joules appropriately and it is a tasty TC vape.

@steamer, As i said i already have a VT40, Epetite DNA 60 and Finder 250. I don't have escribe and will not install a virtual machine on this computer for various reasons i won't go into..
the default temp modes are no more accurate than a current smok mod.

Yihi ones are closer. I have literally seen the entire videos of the exact figures and by how much the temps are off. The only way to get them that close with a DNA is through custom TCR's/escribe.
With the G class, i can set it all up and do TCR and everything right from my iphone or the mod. Too easy.
With the dna, without escribe I am stuck to the evolv defaults.. They are ok don't get me wrong, but really no better than a smok alien.. It's still much more enjoyable than non TC.. I just wanted a change of pace, and a mod with an actual display with lots of info on it, and something other than a DNA.. I guess we will find out soon when it arrives!
Evolve's big issue is that the devs buying the chips make pretty mods and do not spend a minute of their time setting up the resistance of the mod properly, not even battery cal most of the time, and preset profiles? yeah, right! LOL!
This was the mistake I made besides the crappy build quality of my think vape and lost vape (only my hcigar is flawless build as said above).. DNA is for modders/tweakers.. I am using things like joyetech 0.6 SS coils, or kanger Ni coils, or aspire NI coils.. simple stuff! Nothing fancy.. however i especially want to get a great SS vape, the g class does that out of the box. There's no point trying to convince me otherwise NOW lol, the money was spent 12 hrs back or whatever it was.

When a DNA comes out when you can do most things on the device, i'll re look at it then. Right now, i'm up to my earfuls in DNA and the next step that would make sense, is to buy a windows laptop to use escribe, before i ever bought another DNA!

Actually I will go as far as to say this.. why evolve modders do not see the huge untapped market in custom fancy ready to go mods with tons of presets, for people like me, i will never understand. And setting up their devices 100% accurately at least so it's all RTV as good as humanly possible without escribe. None of them do it. Hcigar, lost vape, think vape.. they all just use default dna boards with evolve standard sets.. that's it.

Can you imagine an evolve based mod, where all the main forms of SS were covered, both forms of titanium, nickel and even a couple of other wires.. ready to go, perfectly tuned and tested by the people that made the mod, out of the box? I reckon people that would never touch a DNA would suddenly start buying them.. remember, they are double the price of say a top smok mod right? So if someone wants that DNA ability to be accurate and efficient, but is put off by no rela presets, they WOULD buy one dna instead of two smoks if someone just released the right device.(for example).

A little bird told me there is a Q in the Classifieds for around the same price!
It's as close to new as they come :)
i've paid the verified Paypal fee (i thought by previously contributing that may have already done that, but it hadn't), and now I have to wait to be approved for classifieds. If it's really a Q for that good a price.. give me dibs

It's all ready here! Have you seen the YT videos for the new "C" Chip.
Still only in 75 watts but we all know soon to be 250 to :)
it's not already there.. there is not one English video of it yet, and if there is, please point me to it, and the device is not available to buy anywhere.

yes, the Hcigar VT75C will be one to keep an eye on. Only if i don't like the G class though.. :)

In the meantime i will also continue to search for ready to go downloadable profiles for my crappy DNAs.. today i had the think vape at 250 watts to test the stuck button issue, pressed minus, let go, and in 10 seconds it took *itself* all the way to 1 watt. Lovely! What am I supposed to do when they won't answer emails? And when the vendor who i won't name here not to break any rules, keeps asking me why i haven't uploaded video proof to them, when they only have a 2MB upload limit? And when i direct them to a download link on my dropbox of the video proof, they reply by actually saying, you still haven't sent us a video, literally ignoring every single word I said to them in the previous email? It's absolute torture.. remember this is not against evolv. themselves.. but if i have similar experiences with yihi, as i said on page 1, i will simply buy ready to go cheap stuff like Al85's and MVP4's from now on and never a high end mod again. The yihi is my last hurrah to actually get what i paid for, and being an australian seller i got it from, i might actually get support in case of a fault, too!
