thanks for the suggestions guys. Something weird I have noticed is that the coughing and stinging go away completely if I have a cigarette before I vape? I know it defeats the purpose but I have still been smoking about 1 pack/week and I notice I almost always pick up my ecigarette after a cigarette since the vaping will be smooth. Crx, I will try what you said. I have some glycerin sitting around, going to make sure it is 100 percent vg. It's unrelated but I use it to clean my tongue when I get a coating (something I have struggled with as long as I can remember- it works really well. Just a little trick for anyone else here who struggles with this).
I am just really frustrated. I notice certain eliquids are better about it than others, Space Jam isn't as bad but the stores around me are out of stock so I am vaping OB by suicide bunny-does it really bad- and menage a trois by ruthless, which isn't as bad. Both are 12 mg. I tend to prefer creamier/dessert flavors.
Something else I have noticed... which indicates it may be the nic or my tanks, when I try a flavor in stores it never seems to do it. But when I get a bottle home, blagh.

It sounds like it very well might be the nicotine causing it; most stores' test tanks use 6mg. You could try it, see if it helps any. Lower nic really will be easier on your throat.
The thing about smoking beforehand... tobacco has chemicals added to it to make it taste "smooth"... basically topical anesthetic. so when you vape after smoking, you're still feeling the effect of the topic anesthetic, also your mucus membranes are so hyper-stimulated by hot smoke and thousands of chemicals, they kind of go into a coma or something -- after hot chemical-laden smoke, ANYTHING feels better!
I've read a couple of your posts, and with your health conditions, you may be right; it might be a lot better if you don't smoke OR vape; but, I know that can be a
really tall order. If you try to not do either, but feel a temptation, using an e-cig would really be a far better choice than succumbing to a cigarette, for several important reasons: first off, the obvious: it's not as bad for you as cigarette smoke, because it lacks all those carcinogens. 2nd, if you're using just nicotine ejuice and not WTA, then you aren't reinforcing your addiction to the MAOIs in tobacco, and if you have an anxiety disorder, breaking that particular addiction could be crucial for long-term non-smoking, but with that anxiety disorder, that will also be really difficult; every cigarette you smoke just reinforces that addiction that much more. But this idea of trying to break the whole addiction, not just to cigarettes but all of it, will be made easier by using a lower-mg nicotine, which I do think would be easier on your throat.
I hope you can find a way to get yourself healthier, and not have to deal with total withdrawal; it sounds very much like rock against hard place.
