You are correct about the battery life and here's why:

I changed the order of quadrants around on the wheel, but the formulae are all still correct.
P = power (watts)
V = volts
R = resistance
I = current (amps) The "I" originates from the French phrase intensité de courant, or in English current intensity.
Voltage x voltage ÷ resistance (ohms) = power (watts)
4.5v²/2.2Ω = 9.2w
Voltage ÷ resistance (ohms) = I (current/amps)
4.5v/2.2Ω = 2.05 amps
3.7v²/1.5Ω = 9.1w
3.7v/1.5Ω = 2.47 amps
Even though a 2.2Ω atty at 4.5v and a 1.5Ω atty at 3.7v are producing the same amount of watts (+/- 9), when vaping low-res the amps increase, which draws more from the battery.
See my prior post about how to find your power "Sweet Spot," but you are correct in that with a higher ohm coil you will set the volt higher to produce the same amount of watts.

Yes and no. With a lower ohm coil you would set the battery lower, but it will pull more amps and lower the battery life.
1.5Ω coil at 3.5v ≈ 8.1 watts
2.5Ω coil at 4.5v ≈ 8.1 watts
How you vape will also be a factor. Chain-vaping uses up battery life faster too. I just bought lots of batteries and don't worry about it.

Kanefer, i use a provari/kayfun mini+ rig as my main pv.
In my experience there's a learning curve figuring out the cotton wicking - too thick and it dry hits cotton (yuck!); too long on the sides and it leaks/floods/gurgles like a rain gutter. After reviewing and re-reviewing what's on youtube you finally figure it out (in my case after burning/pouring through about 30mils of ejuice). Also review and re-review the top fill instructions on youtube to figure out how to keep the vacuum tight (another source of leakage) when you fill it from the top (much easier than using the bottom "fill" screw).
Another thing that took some tweaking was the tight draw. I ended up drilling my side air hole out to 3/32, chamfered the side hole to get rid of the "whistle" and bored out the internal hole (the one that runs vertically to the side hole) to 5/64. Also changed my drip tip to one you'd expect to see on a dripper, and that did the trick. Once again, peruse the youtubes that cover this - sounds MUCH more difficult than it is.
The easiest adjustment for me was the coil/voltage equation. 9/10 wraps of 28g around a 2mm screwdriver or 5/64 drill bit; a squeeze or two on the coil after test firing with a pair of needle nose pliers and I'm 1.6 ohms. Fill 'er up and for me, the sweet spot on my provari at 1.6 is between 3.4 and 3.6... provanna!
I get ~12 hours of chain vaping on a single 18490 (1100 mah). So my routine is: pop a freshly charged battery before I leave for work to get me through the day; switch out again when I get home to last me into morning.
Once you dial it in... truly painless and brainless.

Okay - post #307. I'm not sure where you are getting 7 and 9 watts, are you not using a decimal point?
Keep in mind that the symbol ≈ in my example means roughly, not quite equal to.

Perhaps your calculator was rounding it. Anyway, it this level, I doubt most people would notice a significant difference. If the vaper is watching the clock, they might theoretically be able to tell the battery isn't lasting as long, but these are similar to people who can calculate the exact moment a microwave begins to generate heat in a potato.
If I was away from a power source for 6 days, I would first of all make sure I had the 18650 battery extender cap on my provari so I could run the 18650's.
I would bring 14 batteries to be on safe side if you r a chain vaper. LOL. Also depends if you have access to the cigarette lighter in your vehicle then I would just bring my battery charger with the adapter and just charge them in my vehicle.
Now they have run an episode of Preppers stocking up on batteries for their vapes..LOL
Thanks for the invite, to your point, I need four more posts (well, maybe three now) before I can kick off my training wheels and belly up to the saloon bar. Meanwhile, you're welcome to point the person over here to open a thread and I'll be happy to share my experience as I'm using the "tobeco" black (didn't want to risk drilling a "real" kayfun) but am so happy with it, I'll probably never spend the extra $$ on the real deal (instead I'll wait for a bday or xmas).
