I have some particularly troublesome thick 100% VG juices that I would like to thin out a bit. I have seen distilled water mentioned as a good thinner. Has anyone ever tried RO/DI (reverse osmosis deionized) water to thin out juice?

I have an RO/DI filter I use for my reef aquarium so I have it on hand. I also have some good stuff in the liquor cabinet but would prefer to drink it.

RO/DI water is very pure. I have a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter and tested it today. It is at 1ppm TDS. I also tested the pH (potential hydrogen) and it was acidic at 5.8 pH. Distilled water is usually in this range for TDS and pH as well.

PGA or pure grain alcohol can actually be around a pH of 4.0 or lower. TDS on vodka and other clear drinkable alcohols seem to be in the range from 18-30 ppm on TDS with pH from 3.8-4.5. I am going to thin some Maker's Mark later with some water and see how that tastes!

With that said I figured what the heck...so I tried thinning some 100% VG Coffee from Copper Creek with some drops of RO/DI water. I got as close as I could get to madjack's ratio (thanks again!) and it worked nicely at a ratio about ~2:10 or 1:5. This did cause a bit of reduction in VTF but at least it is wicking in my eGo-C and I can vape it now!

I am gonna try it again later with a bit less water using an old juice bottle with a 1:6 and higher and see how that works. I dripped the drops right out the tap the first time so I am not sure exactly what the ratio was but RO/DI water seems to work. :)
