I have been wanting to pick up an SL since I saw them first posted, and after I saw such great things about the Odin, I decided it was time to add to the arsenal. I decided on the hammertone because of the finish durability. I got all of the gear yesterday and got a coil into the Odin - my first shot at a dual coil, and the results are off the chain!

I am not really into the super low ohm thing that I know this atty is capable of, but this thing just destroys at .89 ohms with 30g kanthal. The air flow control on the Odin is remarkable. I haven't used an AFC before, and now I know what I have been missing. This is everything that I hoped it would be and more. I am sending in one of my other Grands next week to get milled by Rob so that I have a backup. I don't think I will be going back to the RM2, even though it has served me well over the course of the last year. The BF Odin is the business.

Without further ado...

Very nice. An SL will be my next Reo also. The hammer tone looks great.

FYI, you might have an easier time with your Odin if you use the negative screw that's closest to the air hole your using. You'll be able to use a shorter negative leg and get the coil parallel to the air slot. Also there is a slot on the other side of those negative screw holes to trap the wire. But it sounds like it's working great for you.

That looks awesome Christian. Congrats bro. Yes, The Odin is a damn formidable atty, and yes, I was in your exact shoes a couple of months back, having never vaped (or even built a dual coil) or had an atty with AFC. Also like you, There's no going back for me. I also went from MTL to straight lung.

It seems that inducing a lot of air to balance the heat of low ohm dual coils provides a significant vapor increase while being able to adjust heat / tightness by opening or closing the AFC. Paired with a wide bore tip it creates the perfect vape for this kid. The phenomenon that low ohm builds are hot builds is only true when the airflow is limited / not adjustable to ones needs.

My next REO will be a SL / LP Silver hammertone. I'm thinking of game changers for my vape and I'll try to list them in order:

Getting A REO'
Using Unflavored Nic base
Going rba
Starting to Micro Coil
Koh Gen Do
Odin Atomizer / Router drip tip.

I have changed my mind about sub-ohming. I am running the Odin with dual 7 wrap 27 g. Kanthal micro coils at .41 ohms. 9 mg nicotine at 89% VG and a bit of menthol with the air holes wide open.

Best. Vape. Ever.

I seriously don't know how this can be improved upon. The Odin's juice well is such that it really cannot leak unless there is epic user error. I can't get it to leak even when I purposely flood it. It is producing the biggest, smoothest, most dense clouds I have ever personally experienced.

If you haven't gotten in on the Odin yet, you are missing out. An LP Grand with an Odin is the state of the art. The build is totally simple, even easier than the RM2 in my opinion. The results are straight bananas, and are inspiring me to use superlatives that are not allowed on the ECF. Suffice it to say that this setup is off the charts in every aspect.

All right, that does it.

<off to find an odin online and doesn't care if he's gonna get gouged on shipping>

Having this setup and listening to the first new Aphex Twin album in a decade is making this one of the best nights in recent memory.

Real talk. I bought 2 Odins and now wish I had another 2 for backup purposes. They are that amazing. If you are disappointed, please send them my way. I will pay full retail plus your Canadian shipping nightmare.
