Hi Tracy! I still have a slow wifi connection. I am just wondering if I should get a router. The company states I don't have to but?
Have you cleared your cache and history? That helps a lot.

Fran I'm so sorry for your troubles. I'll be saying a prayer for you all.

I'll say goodnight all and leave you with this thought:

Did you ever notice: The Roman
Numerals for forty (40) are 'XL'.

Well I was up before noon so I'll still say g'morning!

First easter egg hunt of the day accomplished, but it cost me a skinned palm and a bruised hip. I hate these super narrow risers and treds on this old cape cod houses!! Missed a step going down to the basement, crashed and burned on the concrete floor. All for a missing dog leash...that we have a gazillion of :glare:

I need to learn to say no to anything before coffee. Flip flops and steep stairways don't go together.

Oh, sorry, Bov. Did you find that darn leash?

Vans had a really nice looking pair of flips....The strap however was the wide style...The Havannas look like the WalMart cheepies but my older pairs are going into their third summer...My boots are Rockies but I only wear them if they're really needed...My current Vans have a few miles on them and showing it...10 years or so back I noticed a guy wearing Vans in a motorcycle magazine...Now everywhere you go you see them...I hate it when the trend comes too you...They don't exactly give the best support but I love them anyway....

All my orders are placed minus the RTS....Soon grasshopper soon....
The Addidas flip flops I own have the wide strap to. I'm not into the toe thong types. I've been wearing Vans and Airwalks for 20 years. They aren't the most supportive shoes but they are damn comfortable.

I was surprised to read in a doctor’s column this morning that the statin drugs I'm taking may cause memory loss. This old age is difficult.

It's nice to know that it's not my fault that I can't remember things anymore. But it is getting a little scary.

The other day, I put on deodorant BEFORE I took a shower.

Don't ask me for directions to Tyler or Austin. I get them mixed up.

My memory is not a total loss. There are things that I do remember well.

I've never missed a meal.

I can get to Blue Bell Ice Cream without looking at a map.

Anything that happened in the late 1940's, 50s and ’60s, I can recall with no problem.

I know the words to most of the songs that were hits then, but none that made it after that.

This brings up the question — if I have memory loss, why wouldn't I forget some of those things?

I've made a short list of my memory status, just in case we run into each other.

If we met between 1950 and 1975, I'll remember you and be able to tell any funny thing that ever happened.

If I met you between 1975 and 2013, I probably won't remember you, but my wife will, and she will tell me how I know you.

I'm telling you this because I recently read in a doctor’s column that the statin drugs I'm taking can cause memory loss. This old age is difficult.

Thinking of and praying for your family Fran.....

mod sometimes I get a cramp in the middle inside bottom of my foot...This was attributed to the non supportive Vans...When I know I'll be on concrete I switch to older style Nikes...They are very supportive with a high arch that stretches that muscle out = no more cramps....All my Vans are core classics...Waffle bottom and no padded tongue...

Fabbing is under way on the security gate...6 pieces of 1/4 inch steel that have 6 1/2 holes that all must be perfectly drilled for alignment....Now that took a minute or three...It's done and almost ready for welding....Welding is one thing I truly love to do...

The welding will have too wait until this afternoon...Mom is having a crown put on at the dentist...Its been raining heavily off and on for the past couple of days...Cool and rainy...Sitting in the car for Lord knows how long....Just another test of my patience...Good thing I've plenty.....

I cruise the news site every time I log on...The FDA.....They're investigating companies that may have been adding caffine to our foods...Somebody musta forgotten to write the check...Pay well and add what the fek ever you want....

TT I've little trust in pharmacuticals.....However it may be spelled...Seems often the cure is worse than the disease...I'm a big proponent of natural and holistic...

Ahh yes. The classics don't have any support at all. I wear the athletic style low cut type (padded tongue, etc). They have a lot more support and are more like regular sneakers (arch support and what not). I currently wear these. They're quite a few years old.

(((Fran))) You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Always!

TT, Ever since our Sdh told me the side effects of those statin drugs, I've been trying to talk my Dad into talking to his doctor about stopping them and using oatmeal or other foods to help with the cholesterol. His short term memory has declined terribly in the 2 years he has been taking this. I don't like it one bit, but my Dad is Mr. Stubborn and says "the doctors know best". Well maybe so, but they are also in cahoots with Big Pharma, and I just don't like it. I'm with ElDee, give me natural methods to try first, then we'll talk about pharma only if the natural methods aren't helping.
I wish you well TT.....talk to your doc about alternatives, whether it's possible or not to try.

I know exactly where your coming from. I got ahold of support because my printer was giving me problems and told them I even put new ink in it because the black wouldn't print any more. So I took out the new one I bought that quit loading paper correctly and thought, I'm going to fix this damn thing. Well inside I found a small round flashlight that had rolled into it.
t1813.gif
Well while transferring the new ink I noticed I forgot to pull the sticker of the vent hole on the black ink.
t1813.gif
I still had to go through the registery and fiddle with it but DANG IT, I wished I would have remembered to pull the sticker off the vent before I contacted support in my normal demeaner. Doh!

I personally hate statin drugs. I remember researching a paper once related to gabapentin. OMG! It was covered up but a whistle blower from the company came forward. To make a long story short: they paid/encouraged doctors/medical clinics to prescribe gabapentin off label. My mother nearly died from this medication. They prescribed it for diabetic neuropathy/peripheral neuropathy.

Dh did try to take statins. Lipitor caused him to pass out. His cardiologists convinced him to take zocor next. He presented with signs of parkinsonism. See this Drug-induced parkinsonism. [Expert Opin Drug Saf. 2006] - PubMed - NCBI . I also believe it is linked to memory loss as well.
I am thankful that his drooling has stopped. He does work a full time job. At 59 years old I thought it was scary to have these symptoms. However, most doctors don't give a rats .... about side effects these days. He discussed this with his doctor and she said it could not happen. Why? Because most are blinded by outcomes. They believe it is better to have side effects rather than high cholesterol.

Well, I still have to go to post office....you guys (gender neutral) have a great day! :)

Lilac, yes I found the leash...hanging behind the broom at the top of the basement stairs! I have a sore spot or two today, but otherwise fine :)

My cholesterol is odd. My bad chol. is in a good range, but my good chol. is low. I'm a carb junkie so my triglycerides are on the high side. I started taking niacin along with my fish oil a couple of months ago. Every statin they've tried me on gives me those muscle pains so I refuse to take them.

I tried holistics for my hot flashes with no success, so I do take Premarin at a very low dose, only .3mg keeps me comfortable.

LOL 5c and TT!!

Sdh, I personally cannot thank you enough for telling me about statins. I see their effects on my Dad, and hopefully can get him to at least speak to his doc about trying to get off of them. My Mom takes only high blood pressure meds at present, but you can bet I will be on the lookout for her as well. <3
Your so welcome! At least if he cannot get off the statins at least I believe that the CoEnzyme Q-10 will prevent muscle damage that is known to occur with statin use. Other countries will recommend using Q-10 for folks using statins. The pharmaceutical industry has allot of people wrapped around their fingers....I mean pocketbooks!

Dh takes Lopressor for CAD.

Sounds like you are dealing with short term memory loss but, your long term is fine. DH suffers from that as well and he is not old yet lol
