Tracy, you know that we're all putting in extra words to the Big Man for Joc and her friends Are you getting rain right now? I haven't looked at the radar, but it's raining here and supposed to continue thru the next couple of days.

Oh Tracy, forgot to tell you that I refilled my tank with the NF PH, and yes I can taste the difference. If I had to put my finger on it, I would say that the grape is the flavor that has the off taste....to me anyway. I actually like being able to pick up the bergamot notes from the Earl Grey in your DIY, but something about the grape isn't the same. When I get this tank about half empty, I'm going to add some of my already mixed Custard and see if that smooths it out some. It's not unvapable, just not the same like you said

Thank you so much ElDee and Bov!!! You guys are the best! I appreciate the words of advice, and the low down on what to expect. We do not get much weather like that up here, aside from Sandy. (and no Lord, I am not asking for any either! Tyvm) I will pass along that info to her ElDee. They were out shopping today and went to see a Pirate show of some sort. A little while ago she was at an aquarium but said the rain slowed way down there and was overcast then.

Bov, so glad you tried it out and could see what I was experiencing with it. I haven't played with the new EG flavor yet to see the difference in this one, but I will and I'll let ya know what I think. I haven't tried the koolada yet either. I mixed up some watermelon yesterday but letting it steep a bit. Smells good! If I decide to pitch those NF flavors, I'll pitch them right to you!! hahaha

So far in CNY we've had 2.15" in 11 hours, a healthy soak, due to continue.

Just put the two storm windows in at camp yesterday, didn't have time for final trim, cap, caulk, so they have both leaked nicely at the top edge No harm, I primed the siding cut edges, and the interior of the wall is open, will dry fine, but a pita. Quickly stapled up a bit of plastic over the top edge of each, a fast job in the rain, so now there are just a few intrusion points. A couple cups to catch the drips.

Rain should continue through tomorrow, hopefully a bit lighter, then I have dive class this weekend. With any luck things will be dry Sunday afternoon when I get back, so I can do the last, important, weatherization stuff.

At least the trim boards are now primed and have a first coat of finish enamel. I don't cheap out and try to leave the hidden faces unpainted - everything gets one full coat of primer and enamel, though just the exposed parts will get a final coat, after install.

Sounds good Tracy, I bet the koolada in the PH would be interesting! What brand of watermelon did you get? I have an old bottle of TFA and it's a jolly rancher flavor If someone comes up with a true watermelon, I want to know!!

Mark, sounds like you have it all under control. A few drips won't hurt, like you said Weather is calling for a total of around 4" for us over the next couple of days. I'll be down in the basement mucking water

ETA: Mark I just looked you up on the map and didn't realize how close to Oswego you are. My mom and stepdad (both passed away now) lived there for several years. Pop worked at 9 Mile as a Procedure Writer / Electrical Engineer. I visited them while they were there, but that was many years ago.

Camp is about 3-1/2 feet above ground, crawl space, so water doesn't bother it.

Our main home is a log cabin on a small hill. Large rain event like this, we'll get just a little water in the basement, where the well pump hose penetrates the foundation. A couple towels on the concrete floor, change them a few times during the day, soaks it up; it's infrequent enough to not be worth the time\money to dig down 5-1/2 feet on the outside to seal it and rework the drainage.

It's TFA Bov, and smells like Jolly Rancher!!! I have read about others that claim they are more like the fruit, but can't remember where. You know I frequent VR, so maybe there? I'll check and get back to ya on it.

Well, I had a bunch of Grape juice mixed already so I poured about 10 mls into a smaller bottle and added approx. 1 or 2 drops of koolada into it. Will check it out tomorrow and let yas know what I think!

We are getting the same weather as Mark, just getting it first! Began raining here around 1 o clock today. Picked up to a steadier rain this evening, but nothing crazy yet. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse.

This house was built in the '40s and we get enough water in the basement to have to open the sewer drains and use a broom to push all the water to them. If we didn't, the hot water heater and furnace would get water damage even tho they are up on little slabs. Usually if we get more than an inch of rain, we'll have to do this every couple of hours until the rain has stopped for a day. MIL refuses to leave the drain open or use a sump.

This house used to get 2 ft. of water in it. I remember many times seein stuff floating around getting ruined. When the built the basements back then they used spreaders (little pieces of wood) to hold the 2 sides together until the cement set. Then they put a thin cout over the inside to cover them. Water alwasys finds the easiest way so as soon as those spreaders rot it has a nice little pathway in. I dug out and fixed at least 10 of them over the yrs.. It wasn't fun. You have to clean it good then pound hydraulic cement into them as tight as you can. As it hardens it expands so no more leaks. Nice n dry now.

After getting up way earlier than normal the past two days I slept like a rock last night...The rain pounding the roof.....Like a rock I tell yah....I've not been past the deck this am....Talked with a friend as he was clearing a tree from his driveway...and no I don't need free wood if I come and clear his drive!!!! The pressure is way lower than normal and the "feel" is muggy...She is a tropical system after all...Beforehand we were wet....My creek was still flowing and usually by this time it's dry...I can imagine it's on a rage now...@24 hours back we had 1 1/2 inches...I suppose the gauge is full this morning..There is flooding in the area but I'm safe and sound....

Tracy the aquarium is out of this world...I love it...They had a pirate theme the last time I was there....

The flavor threads......Mt. Dew....It got raves...I ordered...I mixed...It steeped...For weeks...Finally last night the carmel/vanilla was on it's last 1/2 tank and the coil was turning it very dark...New coil....washed and filled with Dew...At first it taste of Juicy Fruit complete with the first in your mouth corn starch taste...Overnight it calmed some as the coil broke in...Still it's Juicy and not Dew by any means....Not bad but there will be no raves from me...Variety is the spice....It's very clear so good mileage from the coil is expected....

Now it's rain gear time....gotta check the property....Small limbs is all i expect...Wish me luck as the storm passes.....

I remember you talking about fixing your leaky basement 5c. Too much trouble and a little over my head, especially for a house that I won't be living in forever. Our biggest leaks are from spots in the bottom corners where the floor meets the walls. There are also cracks in the cement floor where the water perks up through. I have tried the hydro cement in some of these spots and it didn't hold...user error I'm sure.

Dee, stay safe and hope you don't find any unexpected damage on your property. Weather is calling for our rain to pick up to an inch per hour later today and tonight.

Pouring buckets here as well, and did most of the night. Hoping you fare well in this storm ElDee!! DD loved the aquarium also! I am so glad for her to have this opportunity to see the country! She said, "Mom! The people down here are SO nice!" I said, "Yes baby doll, our Southerners are indeed very nice people, and way more laid back than the "mad rush" we have up North." I think I would enjoy that too. She was amazed at how friendly everyone is.

Sounds like they poured the floor then the walls after it dried. I don't know how to fix that. My SIL would, He's a cement guy. Too bad we're on opposite sides of the continent. I'm sure you know how to deal with it by now.

It's been pretty nice here. This room gets hot when I have 3 computers going at the same time so yeasterday I said Electricity bill be damned and I turned on the AC. Finally won the fight with the laptop so only 2 going now that God.

Whewww!!!!!

Dang is we ain't had some rain...The wind had its moments as well....Andrea is only lingering now and heading North...The pond is FULL!!! Still not to the emergency overflow though...The creek in my drive jumped it's banks...That to has receded...Looks like the worst is over...Now when the sun hits all this moisture the humidity will be 150%...Life in the South...

For the most part people around here are friendly...Joc is however in a full blown tourist trap...Like a big city beach!!! Still you'll find the people friendly there as well...All the other beaches are much more laid back and totally different though...The area around the Pavallion used to be the place for an evening stroll...Pretty sure it's run down and not the same as it once was...Worth a look though...We used to play a club down there called the Castaways...
