I tried that folding thing, there was no way for me to get it to take less than 100% of my system resources.

You set the number of cores the smp slot will use Ark. You can also remove the gpu slot if it's causing too much graphics lag. You have to have your client window set in advanced or expert mode to change those particular configs.

My rig is only a quad core, but I'm running F@H on all 4 cores, plus my vid card. I do have to pause my gpu slot to watch a movie, but not for youtube vids.

Oooo Lilac, that looks yummy!

Ark they changed the interface. you can click on the taskbar icon and click on quit, idle, idle light, full medium, etc.at anytime. The new setup is easy. When I'm using that pc Iclick on medium and when I'm finished with it I reset to full. Here's a screenshot.

Thankies! 5c, I haven't dl'd the newest version of F@H, I'm still using the 7.2.9 client. I'm using a beta flag for my gpu slot and it's netting me an average of around 20k points per day :) Some of these folders have build rigs just for folding and can pump out several hundred thousand a day!

Evening everyone!!

Turned out nice here too. I found the part I needed finally and I found out I did a dummy move that took me two days to figure out but the latest laptop is running perfectly. Now I just have to wait for fedex to get my next project here. Whoopy.

Ya Bo that new setup is very easy to use for changing the % of processor they use. You can still go advanced and get everything done you used to do. Some people use Folding at home when they install new processors to warm them up and seat them real good.

Mark, I hope it's a fairly simple fix for you.

5c we have a neighborhood possum that waddles around our yard at night, and a skunk. I'm sure they aren't the only ones, but they frequent the buffet of bread, crackers, etc that Katie throws out for the birds and squirrels. We have a feral cat that Katie feeds, he's been here for 7 years and he still won't let you pet him. He'll rub across your leg if you have his food bowl in hand, but will run if you bend down to try to pet him. We always worry about him when we don't see him for a couple of days.

Evening all :)

I have some feral grandkids .... just sayin.'

Haha TT!

5c, I'm going to keep using the 7.2.9 until / unless I'm forced to update. You know how bad I hate change. Hell, it took me 7 out of 10 years of marriage to accept that it wasn't a marriage LOL! Even then, it took the change being forced on me to really start seeing the joy in life again :)

An old dog can learn new tricks, we're just a little slower on the uptake sometimes.

Fran, I love love love fresh bed linens dried on the line!

I think I have the best marriage there is. We have been seperated for about 30 yrs. The only reason I didn't get a divorce was as long as I was married I couldn't get married again.
I got the new setup from them when that pc crashed and I rebuilt it. It found the weak spot and fried it but now after the rebuild it works perfect.

Good morning Notcigs family!!! It's a beautiful day here today (yesterday too) and I plan on getting out and enjoying some of it.

Fran, I used to have a clothesline in my yard, but the ex hubs took it out. I would love to have one again. Enjoy those fresh line-dried clothes girl, and think of me when you take a sniff of them! :)

Some of that blasted R word in the forecast for tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday, but I am not going to let that ruin today!!!

(((hugs))) to all and make it a great day!

I don't mind the "S" word (Sun), and I don't mind the "R" word (rain), but I avoid at all costs that "W" word ... w-o-r-k!!!

And I had made up my mind early this morning that I was going to do .... nothing! Absolutely nothing.

Then Uncle Joe Dee came by and he has a sick sheep I had to go doctor for him. Probably worms and I had the stuff to do it with.

So I'm back and his sick sheep is treated.

I don't like sheep very much, but I do like them better than cats ... but don't ever get a goat. They are nothing but trouble!

Worse than being kinda/sorta married for 30 years!
