Good Morning, from one of your Midwest correspondents. After an afternoon shower we had a cool night for sleeping. I hope folks round here got their hay up in good fashion. Last week was the first chance they had to get it mowed and raked without getting wet so far, besides finish planting. Supposed to be in the nineties thru Wed. then 50% chance for rain. Corn looks good if not a little behind normal, about knee high now. Most beans just popped up last week.
5c, I either use it as a text messenger, or I have a headset with built in mic. Mike hates to type, so when I talk to him I use my headset...no camera needed.
Moon, the weather has been crazy for farmers over the last several years, as you know. Drought or too wet seem to be the only options. Oh how I miss the gorgeous farmlands! I know that you dispersed your herd, but do you still have any cows at all?

The weather calls for scattered storms all week long...It has rained heavily several times in the past few days...All the crops are zooming...The ground has been saturated for weeks...Southerners are know for the laid back slow approach to life...IMO that's due to the heat and humidity...To humid to move fast...Sweat city...I'll take that over shivering any day....
Off to the post office and credit union here in a bit...Hey I got up at 11:30 myself...Someone was commenting on my life of Riley yesterday...My reply...You were off getting married, having kids and getting divorced...While I was down on the farm or in the body shop honing my skills...Don't hate the player hate the game...The crack of dark tonight will find me filling the bed of the Ranger with sweet corn to deliver too the produce stand my friend runs...Silver Queen and hell no it's not genetically modified...We got weeds in our fields!!!!!!!! My take on life...don't buy it unless you can afford it...cut the bills where you can...work when you have to and only work for yourself...credit will enslave...37 more house payments and things life will be easier...Haters beware...I will become a professional fisherman.....

Used the free coin counter at the credit union...Much easier than the old days for us change savers...Almost 2 skins!!!!!!!!!! Already got some back in the bucket....The house payment is made...NEXT!!!!!!!!!
Got the parts and re-built Mom's kitchen faucet....NO LEAKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heck I even re-stocked the honey supply and filled the Ranger...
Getting ready to pull a TT...He's an inspiration...I ain't dragging the couch out in the yard though....
Thinking about investigating some Coconut Palm Sugar....Stevia in the Raw while probably safer than Splenda still has unwanted chemicals in it...In the Raw my azz....New word on Mt.Dew...they use some chemical to bind the yellow coloring to the fluid...I can't remember what the chemical was...Singapore will give you a few years in jail and a 1/2 million fine for using it...Thankful that I gave up soda...Just another proud moment for the FDA...

Well I had to know so I rebuilt my own coils and wick in my DBox. My first ever attempt at rebuilding and as good as it turned out I think I had a little help from an angel sitting on my shoulder. I'm still going to use the ones he sells when he gets them but I have an inquisitive nature and had to know if I could do it.

Dee, I have tried things sweetened with splenda, stevia, etc and just can not get beyond the taste. Right now I have a glass of decaf mint iced tea that I sweetened with honey while it was still hot and steeping. One of my biggest stumbling blocks in the "good for you" arena is that I love real sugar or honey. I rarely drink soda, but I used to live on vitamin water at 120 calories a bottle. I've reduced that to 1 bottle every couple of days and have been drinking water. Better for me I know...but hella boring lol.

Hey hey all!!! Take cover Mark, Bov, and Fran....we had a wicked summer storm roll through here twice already today and the second was windy with hail!!! A little larger than pea sized suckers that beat the hell outta my flowers! I managed to get the potted Hibiscus onto my side porch just in time, but the rest were out there fending for themselves.
Poor Bo just finished repainting his newer truck, just brought it home on Wed last week. I had to go peek at it first to see if it suffered any hail damage and am happy to report that it did just fine. He almost got a tail whoopin when he came inside and I found him rummaging through my dish towel drawer looking for a soft enough towel to dry the rain from the truck. NOBODY messes with my dish towels!!! hahaha I'm happy to have him loving that newer truck, he deserves it, but I will also be happy when the "newness" wears off a bit.....trying to take my dish towels for such nonsense, ha! (btw, I'm not completely heartless...I hooked him up with a fine shammy for the truck) I guess if I have to share his affection, I'm glad it's just with a truck! ;P
I hear ya on that chemical additive for the Mt Dew ElDee, it's the same one used in certain flavors of Gatorade to yield the brighter colors! There's another one in those vitamin waters Bov, so don't drink too many of them. something about the liver not being able to break it down, and it just builds to a level of toxicity. That's why I was peeved at the schools removing soda machines in lieu of Vitamin water dispensers. It also really aggrivated me that anyone would put it in something called Vitamin water, which sounds like it's supposed to be healthier for ya. KWIM? It's just not right. Anyways, I know we sometimes have to pick the lesser of two evils and such, but gosh darnit, just give me real sugar and no chemicals. Is that too much to ask? Ok, rant over......until next time!

Forgot to add that when he bought the truck (newer one) the cab was blue, and the bed was black. Although it was already in much better shape than the old one (body wise), and he does it for a living, he wanted it real nice so he painted it. Those competition stripes are painted on, not decals/stickers.
