That's awesome, LD! Woot for you!!!!!!!! Hopefully the second time will be a charm for you :)

I think that most folks forgot about Windows ME. Or, they wanted to anyway lol

Congratulations to you and Becky both!

Thank you Salem. It looks like we are settling on May for the wedding. So far, "whatever you want" seems to be the right response for every question she asks. lol

Send it to me and I'll fix it for you.

5card, Thank you so much 5card, your a jewel! ;)

After I shut it all down last night and went to bed, God told me not to give up. Woke up this morning, started up the laptop, I found Ethernet cables, connected to the web, went to Fujitsu's website, and I am now in the process of downloading the missing drivers. Say a prayer for me! :)

Since I am still feeling good, I'm going to church, and I will pick back up with the downloading when I get home.

Update to follow, YEA!!!!:)

Thanks for all the support and well wishes.

Oh, I almost forgot " Good Morning All"! :)

Wharf congratulations on 28 years....Here's hoping there are many, many more!!!!!!!!

LD it's been a skinny minute since I've seen you...Congrats on the upcoming wedding....Is TT gonna be the best man???????????

Spent Friday scouring the local auto salvage yards looking a somewhat rare Ranger seat...Found and scored for $25 smackers...Now I've got the fabric I need to restore the new interior to flawless condition....I also have in my possession a set of nice leather Explorer seats...They match perfect and I'm leaning on installing those as it will be a bolt in....Either way Spike and I will be rolling comfortably down the hiway..I'm still short 1 fog light lens and an a/c low pressure switch for the new Ranger....Spiffing the old Ranger for the Craigs continues....slowly!!!!!!!

Five though I only saw the start of the game....Russel Wilson!!!!!! Rally hoping they beat Denver..... Raider Nation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Late morning all! Congatz Davon and Becky!!

Sluers, good for you! But if you have any further problems, I can tell you that 5c can fix it :) Don't hesitate to take him up on his offer if you need to...it's way cheaper than buying a new one!

Off to be Katie's slave laborer today, gotta take a bunch of boxes of stuff down to her church for their annual rummage sale. Whoa...I've never even been in a Catholic church, I hope I survive ;)

LD Congrats on the find. Russel Wilson is pretty good and I'm glad we beat the Broncos but alas I MISSED the doggone game.

Good Afternoon!

Home from church, it was a powerful sermon, amen!

And I am back at the 'downloading' of drivers for the laptop. It looks like its going to be a long process, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, LOL! Its a long list of drivers and it seems like the system has to shut down after each download.

My first PC had Windows 3, that was almost 20 years ago, wow! Then I invested in a new desktop with Windows ME. Now that was a constant nightmare. That desktop was short lived! Then I made the mistake by buying a Dell unit. The redeeming factor was XP OS. When I decided to move from TX to PA I knew I was going to need a laptop. I really wanted to buy a Mac, but at that time they were going for $2000. The sales associate showed me the Fujitsu that was on sale for $1200. It seems that the good folks in Houston had never heard of this brand and very few were being sold. Well, I'm from New Orleans, not to much scares me, and I always seem to gravitate to the unusual. It came with Vista Home Premium 64bit OS. I did have some issues with the OS, so I upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64bit. Over the past 4 years I have had two separate incidents where a virus shut me down. Geek Squad took care of these for $200 a pop. So far, this time I'm only out $99. Keep your fingers & toes crossed for me, please! :)

I had Vista 64bt. Vista ultimate and a couple made by the Russians (Vista extreme and Vista Black). Vista was manageable if you turned off all the controls on it. Actually that's what 7 is Vista with the controls turned off and a few trimmings. We all had to use Vista. I know I did but when 7 came out I got it immediately. I think 7 is the best program they ev er made and like Mod says 8 sucks. XP is a good program I mean that's what business and medical uses so it has to be good but I like the graphics on 7 better.

We have xp on a desktop, vista on sons computer/desktop, and I have windows 7 on my laptop. One thing that really irritates me is that my laptop is about 1 year old but last December the letter's (white on black) started coming off. It is covered under warranty but best buy sends it out. It takes like 4 weeks. I cannot live without the laptop.

One thing that is good to have is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Protect, Detect & Remove Malware From Your PC

Best buy geek squad told us this is the program they used to remove a facebook virus I obtained 2 years ago. I also use Kaspersky labs anti-virus. I am amazed at the things this anti-virus picks up.

What do you mean by "turned off all the controls"? How do I do that?

I can't tell you how happy we are for you LD on the forthcoming marriage. That's great news!!

You're such a nice guy I knew some pretty ol' gal would come along and snag you before long!

As for the .... "whatever you want" ..... you might just as well go ahead and get it tattooed on your forehead.

It doesn't hurt .... at least it didn't hurt me when I had it done.
