Deck work will commence today. Lot of prep work. Hubby is bracing it everywhere. Got to pour cement pads, replace rotted framework. 20'ft has a roof over it and the deck collapsed before the last roof support so that will be braced from the ground now. Our back yard looks like a disaster area.

Fran none of that sounds good...It's gonna be a ton of work....I share your pain....

I got caught tryin' to slip between the cracks of the Buffet concert....Guess I'll be there tomorrow...Leaving my blade at home to prevent slitting my wrists when Cheeseburger is played....

Thanks for the replies and likes on the story post...My Unc Roy had purchased the Corvette that donated the engine and trans for the 55....He promptly destroyed it and left it behind the barn...The 55 was traded for a 66 Chevelle SS 396 that met it's end coming face to face with a utility pole...I stripped the Chevelle for parts and had a great body from the firewall back sitting on blocks in the woods...I was biding my time looking for a frame and front clip to reassemble the Chevelle...then....The farmer on the neighboring tract of land sold his timber...The Chevelle was near but not over the property line...Some Jackazz in a skidder thought it would be fun to crush the Chevelle and that's what he did....It's still up there mashed flat matter of fact...They had also cut @ 7500 in timber off my Granny's land...I got paid and so did Granny....Dang near went to jail as well...

    Well Happy Easter Monday everyone!!!

Fran that deck thing...Sheesh!!!!!! Makes my 99 problems seem slightly smaller....but only slightly....Sorry about that!!

5 hope the ribs are feeling better!!!!!!

Easter Monday...Somewhere around 71/72....My dad was off work and working on our lawnmower...My Uncle N.A had borrowed some wrenches from Dad and hadn't returned them..I had been watching the repairs and my little Honda SL 70 was sitting right there so Dad asked me to go and get the wrenches...I obliged...Now N.A. is the uncle who passed last year...the one with the long history of alcoholism...and...it was a Holiday...So yeah he was fired up...Well I got the wrenches and rode on back home down the shoulder of the highway...right past the Highway patrol...I never saw the law and went on back down where Dad was....I was sitting and watching Dad work when the trooper came around the side of the house...Dang if he wasn't 'bout to bust a vessel...Dad and I looked on kinda in disbelief....He was lecturing my azz on all the possible ways I'd just eluded death....then.....N.A. had seen the Trooper tear out after me...He had a 55 Chevy with a 427 4-speed from a Corvette...N.A. drunk as a skunk fired up that Chevy and came too the rescue...He had that dang thing screaming through every gear and was going way over a hundred when he came past...That trooper 'bout sheet his pants and ran for his car...Now N.A. taught me how to drive and even drunk that trooper stood no chance...30 minutes later N.A. came riding up from the back way on a tractor...He had his gold tooth displayed...That was my first encounter with the law and Unc saved my azz....We never saw that trooper again....As tomorrow is the anniversary and both Dad and N.A. are gone I'll have to go down and sit for a bit and reflect...There will probably never be an Easter Monday that comes around I don't think about that day...Just another day in my hood building the legend of "El Dee".........
That was great Ld. Reminds me of a scooter I built. I come out of the bar, looked down the road towards my house and in front of the firestation sat Johnny law. I look at everybody and say lets find out. I was in third with the front wheel way off the ground doing about 85 as I passed him. Shifted into forth, no time for fifth I was at my house. Slid sideways past the shop and jumped off in the corn patch behind the shop. Went out front an ol Johnny pulls up and says did you just see a big bike go past real fast? I say ya, he went that way and pointed him down the road. Couldn't find the keys for the scooter for a couple days so I was going to push it into the shop. When I got to it I found the keys in the ignition and the battery dead from the lights left on.
