Well, the first guy that came out (a month ago?) to grind our 8ft diameter maple stump never finished the job. Got about half done, took MIL's $400 and disappeared. I've warned her not to hire people off the street...maybe she'll learn her lesson this time!

Got a reputable company out here today to finish the job, for another $250 But it's finally done, I'm sunburned again from all the clean up and hauling another sheet ton of stump mulch. Whew!!!!!!

Very true Fran. And how is it that every time I work my ... off, I wake up the next morning and have grown a new one?!

And never pay people doing that kind of work until the job is done. Hubby is a paint contractor and sometime people will offer to give him money up front, but he always refuses it.

I'm getting ready to work a day shift. Y'all pray that I survive. It's very unnatural for me to be up during daylight hours.

Tide, this isn't the first time she's been ripped off. She jumps on what sounds like a cheap deal rather than paying a pro what the job is really worth. I've warned her for years, but she'll pinch a penny until it squeals!

Oh yeah some people will never learn that you get what you pay for.

I survived the day but o can barely keep my eyes open now. Hubby watching baseball is not helping either. I don't mind baseball but it can be slow going and makes me sleepy.

Rain is approaching here Fran, should arrive soon and we probably won't see the sun again until Wed. (ugh!) More rain forecasted for Thurs.

I;m not gonna complain about the rain since we need it so bad here! Supposed to start around midnight for us I think, then a little break until tomorrow afternoon. They are calling for about 3" total. In Fl that would be nothing, but here...I'll probably spend Monday night and Tues slopping the water outa the basement And yes I know a sump pump would be great...MIL will have no part of it

Not as good as having a pump but it gets the job done. You can buy extra hose at Walmart to if you have a long ways to go to pump out the water. They should have couplers to. If not, hit up the plumbing section.

All I gotta do is open the sewer drain in the basement. MIL is just scared to use a sump pump (we have one) because she has this irrational fear of things catching on fire. Seriously, she opens the attic door on hot days because she thinks something up there may spontaneously combust

Howdy All! Just dropping in to say hello. We have had nothing but rain for days. It is kind of depressing. Hubby and I were going to spend the weekend in Vegas for our 16th Anniversary and see the Eagles, but that fell apart. So all in all between the rain and the cancelled getaway I am feeling blah! But life is good so I will get over it, a little bit of sun would not hurt.

I got a shipping notice today for the latest book in the Dark Tower series, I pre ordered it the beginning of March, so that was cool, but it did not make the sun shine!

Fran are you going to read it????

I think I am going to watch some Game of Thrones, still haven't caught one since it came back on.

I'm hoping I remember enough from the other books to get started. I don't have time to read them ALL again right now.

Thanks, it happens, not a big deal, but we really had nothing else planned. Ended up watching a movie instead and it wasn't that good.

It wasn't so much not going to Vegas to that got me down, heck we have been there enough times and two kids and 20+ years of being together, we aren't doing much that needs to "stay" in Vegas in anyhow.

What got me down was missing the Eagles once again. They are on a very short list of bands that I have not seen live that I really want to.
