I got up earlier so I could take a longer nap ;) Allergies are kicking my .... the last few days.

Katie flopped a pork roast on the kitchen counter yesterday and asked me to come up with a recipe for it. She's Polish, loves sauerkraut, so I found a crock pot recipe for pork roast with taters and kraut. Stuffed the crock pot with it last night so that she could take it out of the fridge and get it started this morn. I went downstairs a bit ago and she says she doesn't like it. Anybody wonder why I don't bother to cook here?

I am Polish and irish. I love pork roast and sauer kraut! Sear it before adding to crock pot and season with lots of garlic. You MUST eat apple sauce with it as well. YUM!

Oh yeah. You have to wait to add kraut in the last hour or your pork will remain pink

Hey Salem, Had a couple of 'not so good days', but starting to feel better.

I thought the same thing about using the baby oil, but you really don't notice the oil. The original recipes I was given called for 2 Tbls of baby oil, but I cut it down to 1 1/2 Tbls. I started using baby wipes 20 years ago with the birth of my daughter. Since then they have become a main staple in this house. I'm sure you can tweak it to be more suitable for the bird cages.

This link has some great recipes for laundry Laundry | One Good Thing by Jillee

Awe, (((sluers))) I noticed that you had not been online and feared that you were having some bad days :( Sure hope that you feel better quickly!

Busy week, hopefully I can get out early tomorrow, pour the Crete for the other 3 columns. Then it's time to place the main wood order, a bunch of 2x6 16', cats and dogs other items, plus the sheathing and siding for the bit of wall I've targeted to replace in the fall. I'll use home delivery, so order a lot at one time.

Since the deck is all new, only reusing a bit of the existing stairs' concrete pad to support one end of the beam nearest the present porch, I expect it will go well, just take a bunch of grunt carpentry.

The diagonal wall piece, above the living room wall I replaced earlier in the season will be a bit more of a pita. It's all ladder work, and putting in some new studs, but again nothing too arcane. The plastic sheathing I put up temporarily has been absolutely fine, zero leaks during some pretty hardcore storms.

Thanks for the advice Salem. The kraut and taters are good, the pork that had been in the freezer since Moses was born...not so much. But my determination to make it edible won. I tossed the pork on a plate, shredded it and mixed it with some BBQ sauce. Katie is smiling again :)

Lol @ the grunt work Mark...I seem to do a lot of that!

Evening all!

Bo it sounds scrumptious. To H E double toothpicks with MIL. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedos.

I was down to only a gal. of OJ left and lately that's all I drink so I went shopping and picked up 2 more gal. At 3.29 a gal regular price I couldn't pass it up. Last time they were on sale for 2.50 a gal.

Good thinking! BBQ sauce fixes anything and everything IMO

That OJ is going through the roof much like everything else is. I am not a big fan but, I do like the Simply Orange with extra pulp. The price of it is ridiculous though.

Good morning everyone! I hope this Friday finds you all fabulous!! :)

Bov, I love that PV pouch that you crocheted!! My Grammy taught me to crochet when I was just a wee little thing. I haven't made anything in years, but it's one of those things that makes me smile and think of her. ;)

Salem, I had no idea about adding the kraut in the last hour! Now I know why my pork stays pink!!! Gah! On New Years day I put a pork roast into the crock pot with a can of kraut, a can of beer, an apple and some brown sugar.....yum!!!

Mark, It sounds like you're at it again with all that work!!! Glad you are enjoying it though and kayaking when you can.

5c, Congrats on your team winning!!

Fran, Get ready for some rain!!! Blah! Heavy downpours expected here off and on throughout the day. :(

ElDee, Where'd ya get to??? Oh yeah, the BEACH!!! Woot woot!

(((hugs))) to everyone! So much crap to do, and so little time to do it in.
