Pretty cool and windy here. Took a bike ride...against the wind it was like lifting weights...the ride home though was wonderful!

Dee,Moon, 5c, Fran...anyone with more mechanical brain cells than me, I have a question for you. Would replacing that faulty MAP sensor make my engine run smoother? I'm wondering if it's just my imagination, but my car seems to run better, and I'm not smelling that "running too rich" exhaust smell anymore.

It sure will Bo. All the sensors on a car sense the air conditions, oxygen levels, altitude, etc. and feed it to the onboard computer to calibrate the best air/fuel mixture for the car at the time. That's why they want them fixed if they're bad before licensing the car here. They want clean exhaust and if it's too rich you get bad exhaust, co2, etc.

My SIL's dog tripped me last night causing me to crash through the fence on my way down. Broke that section of fence completely ruined, got a gash on my jaw, and either a broken or more likely bruised rib. I'm going to see if it gets better before I go to the docs.

Oh John! I know you must hurt no matter what you do Even a bruised rib is painful.

Thank you for the answer on the sensor, I haven't put enough miles on it to reset the computer yet. The check engine light is off because of swapping out the battery.

Bov what you said above leads me to believe the MAP fixed the problem and the light will likely stay off...

Windy and chilly!!!!!!!!! 32* last night and 31* tonight...Snowed a bit here but thankfully only briefly....

Thanks LD and Tracy. I'm thinking one of them up towards the top is fractured but not broke. Oh well I'll live. There isn't anything they can do for that. Just have to take it easy. Oh and rebuild the fence later on.

I let my movies play all night while I sleep. I tried the tv but it didn't work.Anyway so my computer is on 24/7/365 unless I leave. Good for folding at home but not the pc. Well I just got a WD TV Live Media Player. Pick it up as soon as I can. Probably easier on electricity too.

That sounds like a good idea, 5. I turn my pc off because I have to keep my electricity footprint as small as possible here. That's why I had to quit F@H
