Bov,
I haven't updated enough to let you all know but the "new doc" is now the "never again will see doc". He wanted me to take her to the ER at one point which would have traumatized the heck out of her and I refused. I then took her to "the Dr Is In" and got the meds that she needed to get better, the very ones he was withholding and wanted yet more tests. Um, no thanks doc but you will take me straight to the poorhouse with your form of treatment.
Her doc is back since the 21st of April although we haven't needed to see him.
As for how often Maddie gets sick......it's called "protected child syndrome". NO, I am not at all sure if that's a real term for it, but it's one that I just made up. Simply put, it's my own fault for keeping her away from anyone and everyone who so much as sneezed during her babyhood. Honestly, her teacher said she and another little girl are her sickest students this year and both did not attend day cares or preschool, but went straight into kindergarten. Kids who are exposed to illnesses develop a resistance or tolerance to germs. Maddie and this other little "parent protected" child are now playing catch up if you will. lol We are hoping that next school year is kinder to these little girls as they sure have had it rough this year!
So as much as I complain about her getting sick, it's my own fault for not subjecting her to it earlier and having her immune system better built to resist it now.
Teacher says it's really been a tough year all around though and she hasn't had a full class in a while now!
The good news is that it really was a quickie belly bug. Fevers all gone since 9 this am and she's eating really well and keeping it all down. Yay!
