I will order the stuff needed for the cinnamon rolls ASAP sounds good. Any other flavors from those companies worth getting my hands on I hate to pay for shipping for one item. Maybe the flavors needed for purple haze and snake oil? Sometimes shipping is more than the item. I think that maybe why I haven't ordered any lorAnns flavorings. Small sizes and high shipping.

Hahaha Wharf...you win, again!

85 here too, got our yard mowed, and may need to go help one of our neighbors mow hers. She came over to let us know that her husband is in the hospital with pneumonia and sepsis :(

Thanks for the offers 5c and PI, but I really have too many extra calories of my own! I read the other day that it takes 7,000 jumping jacks to lose one pound. That'll put a new perspective on that bowl of ice cream I crave at 2am!

Yay for kids and outdoor heat...not! I think I've gotten too old for that  Recipes...lemme think a bit and I'll pull one outa my old lady brain for you Marti.

My new love is them 100 calorie cream scicles.
After riding the exerclce for 45 min it says I've burned 50 calories so the cream scicles are ahead.

I finally ran out of movies so I actually watched the Hunger Games.....I know...a little late but I liked everything but the end. Same as Prisoners it had a terrible ending too.

Purple Haze is...
8% Grape
3% Hypno
1% Earl Grey Tea

Yummy !

Do you have any to share with us? :)
Bov I put the Loranns cream cheese icing on my list of flavors to buy for next time too. I still just have that yucky old cream cheese kicking around in the flavor box that ill never do anything with! Haha

Today is my Dads first birthday in Heaven. In honor of that I bought my hibiscus tree this weekend. This year I got a braided trunk type. It looks pretty cool! I won't get as many blooms I suppose as I did last year with the bush type, but I might have an easier time trying to winter it over indoors. We will see. It looks pretty scrawny ATM but with some 908 TLC, I'm expecting it to be photo sharing worthy in a couple weeks! :)
Happy first Birthday in Heaven Daddy! Love and miss you bunches!!!

Good morning Fran and thank you! (I hope so!)

I'm a believer in "signs" and for some reason I turned on a local country radio station this morning after dropping Maddie off at school (heck, I don't listen to country music and neither did my Dad!) and "I'm already there" was playing. After trying to find a birthday sentiment for my Dad for FB before leaving and thinking of him while posting here this morning....that was my sign. Made me smile and shed some tears at the same time. I'll take it! Thank you Daddy, you're always in my heart. <3

Back later everyone, Maddie has all half days and I'm expecting some company later so I need to hustle!!! :)

I'm a non-believer in signs, one of those tight-browed cynics otherwise known as skeptics.

However, I'm not so much a tight-assed SOB that I throw out the Stephen Kingesque claims of contact with alternate realities without a fair hearing. I, myself, was thinking of a particular episode of Father knows Best the other day.

Yesterday, that episode was broadcasted. In it, I saw my long-deceased father talking my sister out of pursuing an engineering degree.

A sign? Probably not. But the odds? Do the math.

Getting the tub in.

Do any of us recognize the personal hell that guys like Dee go through every day, the guys that deal on a personal level with the guts, the nuts-and-bolts of life?

We get up in the morning, turn a lever. Warm water comes out. We turn a switch, and our face is illuminated well enough to shave the little tiny hairs that sprouted overnight. We drive to work, giving no thought to all that had to go right in order for us to give no thought.

We eat out later that day, tipping the waitress 15% for her effort in carrying a plateful of chicken-fried steak to our table. Later that week, we tip our beautician the same for examining our above-the-neck geometry and meticulously cutting our hair to fit it, to make us presentable—to affect our lives in a serious manner for six weeks or so.

Then we tip a handyman the same for buttressing the ground on which we stand, making thoughtlessness possible.

Think, people. Think.
