Putnam and Foster are still small towns. I also think if someone called one of our police departments out here for a similar reason, they would probably do the same thing.
When they built I 295, it went right through the center of Cumberland. That killed this town, IMO.

Goodnight, all. Nice chatting with you Sashwa. :)

Ok you all are making me hungry with all of this food talk!!!

To be fair, I've never had an avocado (sorry Pokey, I"m as lost as you are with them!) ;) , nor chicken fried steak (wth is THAT?), but give me some lobster or steamers (clams) and now you're talking!!!!! Oh, and New England Clam chowder, YUMM!!! (no Manhattan for me thanks!)
Sashwa, I have to try some steamers with vinegar and butter next time now. How exactly do you prepare them that way? I love me some vinegar!!

It is way passed my bedtime friends, but I had to pop in to wish you all a Happy 4th!!! Hope it was a great one all!

We used to grab a rack of beer, jump in the boat and go out in the sound. Dig steamers and boil them right on the beach. Drink beer and eat steamers until we couldn't eat no more.
I grew up going to the ocean every summer 2 or 3 times. Digging clams and fry em up or gring them up and make clam patties. Then there's the oyster feed. It went about like the steamers. Beer and oysters. I couldn't make it without my seafood. Oh and Smoked Oysters MMMMMMMMMMMM

Oh ya and I thought Col. Sanders was a southern boy.

Surf City fared well last evening...Arthur's eye wall just barely missed us...We were lucky to be South of landfall....

Fighting a 200 mph wind Wharf ???? This wasn't my first rodeo and doubtful it was my last...When it's time to bail....haul azz...This go round I just had to bide my time...

Anyone want some pine cones??? I can fill a couple three pickups easy....On the bright side they're all on the ground at once...10 years back a car load of older Yankee tourists stopped as I was picking up pine cones in the yard...They went home with a couple of garbage bags full...these are Southern Yellow Pine/ Longleaf Pine with the huge cones...

Just as luck would have it....the new wider tub ?? Yeah the tub spout hits dead center on a wall stud....Yeah there was cussing...

Pokeys Road Song.

And Pokey loves hitting the road...as in....road trips. :)

They call me Road Warrior...

A Southern home-cooked Chicken-Fried Steak was a nuclear secret the South never gave up,

Lard is one of the secrets and best eaten while still warm. Trust me.

oh yeah and "stuffies" stuffed clams

Stuffies? How in blazes do you stuff a clam??? And with what? They are small, aren't they? Very small...or wait, I am thinking mussels. Nevermind
I ate a clam once a very long time ago. And a mussel. It took a bottle and a half of wine to do it. Oh, and one oyster once as well...it took more libation than the clam did. Oh! And one snail. It didn't stay down, waste of a perfectly good beverage. I am not into molluscs :)

Chicken Fried Steak is great!! Heart Attack on a plate!!

If you do it right, you can hear your arteries hardening!

Chicken Fried steak for the win! :)

Off to go eat some...oatmeal.
Laters!

(I hate picking up pinecones, Dee, even the very big yellow/longleaf ones. Feelin' for ya but glad that and some limbs was the worst of it. Stinks about the tub, meh.)

I am out and about looking to buy a vacuum cleaner.
(Don't tell me I don't know how to live it up on a holiday weekend )

Good grief!
I need to whine for a minute, here. I looked to my left, to my right--nobody. So y'all are IT.

It is ridiculously overwhelming--the makes, the models, the styles, the PRICES. All over the place. And I live in a town (a city, so they say) just a hair beyond podunk...I cannot imagine what all the choices you ultra-cosmo, uber-metropolis, avocado and clam-eating experts would have to contend with...

That said, I've narrowed my selections down by price and by length of power cord.

I hate unplugging and re-plugging the vac in as I go from room to room. One house, one cord, that's my goal, LOL!
I don't really need a headlight, do I? No. Luxury item to bump up the sticker price.

I'd much rather be spending money on PVs and accoutrements, just sayin'.
