Thank you 5C! Yep, you'd be surprised how many Drs here won't even deal with Medicaid patients because it's such a hassle...more so than most regular insurance coverages.

I didn't tell anyone about what was going on because I didn't want to worry anyone else. Only person I talked to about it was Mike, since we talk on Skype every couple of days.

My .... is dragging today on the doubled dose of Losartin but I'll adjust in a week or so. I took the batteries (4 AAs) out of MILs bp monitor and one of them had had it's version of a meltdown. There was corroded crud all over the negative end. It only uses the batts to keep the history memory, but it's still not working correctly. I'll pick up the little round lithium batt for mine the next time I go the the store.

I actually have a Dr that I love Fran. He hates the state crap as much as I do, but it does tie his hands somewhat. I was lucky to be able to keep my primary care Dr when I qualified for Medicaid. They don't take new Medicaid patients, but since I was already established there I was able to keep Dr. Harding.

I've never been on public assistance before so he even tells me how to navigate the system LOL! Example, I take a lot of ibuprofen for my back and Medicaid won't pay for over the counter meds in CT. My scripts are free, so Dr wrote me a script for generic Motrin so that I don't have to pay for it over the counter and take 4 at a time. (I refuse to take stronger pain meds)

Ouch Kempo! We had record breaking heat here last week and especially over the weekend, with the humidity up in the 80% range. I hibernated in my bedroom with my air conditioner LOL!

Thank you, I'm sure I'll do fine on the new med. I did some research on the model of the bp monitor and there are a crapload of bad reviews talking about freaky readings. Figures!! It sure scared the bejeebies outa me tho

Have fun Fran!!

I saw that yesterday Wharf! I don't know if you saw my post on the Legislative thread, but my only concern in that challenge is the wording. The letter is pushing e-cigs as a cessation device rather than a reduced harm tobacco product. We won the battle to be classified as a tobacco product, but pushing for a cessation device would make them have to be classified as a drug delivery system.

I am thrilled to see this action taken, just kind of afraid of the terminology!
