:glare:I just returned from getting a Kerosene can and having it filled. Seems while I was busy posting away here earlier, they've upped our friggin' snow totals!!! Latest forecast is 5 - 10 inches. They still don't know for sure (do they ever?) but it's looking a bit scarier than it was just this morning. GRAND!!!

Hey Fran and Bov....How about we all head down to Texas and crash on TT's nice couch out in the weeds, by the old rusty truck? 70's sure beats what we're getting around here!

Well you guys just c'mon down and get warm and we'll have us a vapefest out there in the front yard!

It'll be fun!

TT

We will still have heat, hot water and the cook top. It's losing the stocked freezer that hurts when the power goes out :( And without the internet, I may just go on a rampage lol! I can charge my cell phone in my car, but my laptop batteries are shot. Can't complain...ex hubby saw my post on FB when I was looking for a used laptop and mailed me his old one :)

So if I'm not around Friday eve, you'll know we're in the dark.

I know this sounds like a dumb question, but couldn't you take the food in the freezer out and pack it in the snow to keep it frozen?

If you do that, let me know and I'll stop by during the night and ... uh ... check it for you.

As long as the Sheriff isn't around!!

It should be full by morning. The vendors are doing a great job at getting the word out. Every sale email that I have seen for the past several weeks has a link to it :)

LOL, I put food on the back screened porch when it gets down in the 20s here. Plus I keep bottled water back there during the winter. Stays colder than it would in the fridge!

Ah mark, wish I felt like you do! I always enjoyed having the 4 seasons, I still do, just wish winter was only a month long? Yeah, that'd do it!!

Me too, Tracy. I moved from the coast to the upstate a few years back. On the coast we did have some winter but it was mostly summer and no fall. It never seemed right being 90 degrees on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Here in the Upstate we do get a Fall with the leaves changing colors and winter too. I like having a change of seasons also.

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes !!!!

Hey now... I'm truly a simple man. I spent the day getting propane and moving some stuff around....I cleaned up the shelter that was left from the dog condo...Cleaned the shop a bit so I can get the Ranger in there for an interior upgrade...Hate it as I might I've decided it's best to take the job offer...It's been three years since I last worked for anyone other than myself...I've enjoyed good times and bad but I always seem to get by...I gotta call my new boss tomorrow and confirm everything...Spike and I did manage to slip in a little off roading today..Just a short trip up too the top of the hill...There's a great view there and it's a place where I often sit just to think...I find a great deal of peace there...You know there have been a few family members and friends that have passed lately...J.D. was buried today...Life must go on and it will...Myself I feel gifted too have known them...I've a great family...My friends are many and spread across the globe.....I know in my heart that I'm a very, very lucky man..You all are some very special people...Thanks for being my friends....Dee

That's exactly what we do TT, pack it in coolers and bury it in the snow. Problem is that the temps are going back up into the 40's right after the storm. When we lose power up here, it's out for 1 to 2 weeks :( You won't find a bag of ice in any store within a hundred miles when we get these wicked blizzards. Putting tin foil loaf pans in the freezer for ice as we speak :)
