We used to have toast torn into little pieces in a bowl with milk on it.

And rolled oats with coffee in it when there was no milk.

We didn't know we were poor because we had linoleum on the kitchen floor and nobody else around us did.

So we thought we were well-to-do kids.

TT

TT, my Dad loved a glass of buttermilk with cornbread crumbled in.

I didn't realize how poor we were when I was growing up, either. We had plenty to eat and a roof over our heads. I thought poor people had no food and slept on sidewalks.

I used to make my own cinnamon/sugar mix to make cinnamon toast for a snack. I'd mix it (cinnamon/sugar) in a sandwich bag and store it for later use. I used to use the same mix to make my instant microwave applesauce (chopped apples nuked then mashed).

That sounds tasty, mod.

lilac, your Daddy and I would have got along great together! I love buttermilk more than anything and some cornbread in it would just make it a nice meal!

    Good morning gang!

Well, its Friday and I guess the workaholics have dressed down, got in their little yellow Prius's and are at work having a good old time. I'm so happy for them and I know they are thinking its only three more days until Monday!

I've got a busy day planned too. I'm going to sit around and plan all the things I'm not going to do today, then go pet the dogs and maybe ride around on my 4wheeler for a while and run the dogs and by then it will be my nap time. Busy, busy, busy!!!

I had a whole lot of work planned outside around the house for the next few days, but its supposed to start raining tomorrow and for the next four days. So I'm forced to cancel those plans. Darn it. Oh well, it could be snowing!! Bwahahaha!!! If it did I'd be forced to sit and wait for it to melt because I don't own a snow shovel!

Oh well, before long it will be too hot to do any work outside and then I can quit worrying about it.

Good morning TT and Fran and Lilac!

School is cancelled for today although there is NOTHING on the ground yet here. Just a precautionary as to what may develop later on I suppose. Still not sure what to expect for this storm. Latest models show us in the 3-6 inch range while another (noaa.gov) has us at 8-16. I sure hope for the lesser of the two evils. Will definitely let ya'll know tomorrow morning what we ended up with as long as I can get online.

Hope you guys get the lesser amounts of snow too Tracy. The news media sure likes to make a crisis out of anything that happens and hopefully this will be the case this time ... just a lot of noise and not too much snow.

But stay warm, dry and safe.

He played a mean game of checkers and liked to talk. He knew everyone and if he met a stranger, they didn't remain a stranger for long.

TT after you make your list of all the thing you're not going to do today, do you cross them off one at a time after you don't do them ???

    Oh nooooo Wharf Rat!

    I'd never do that!

    That's too much like work!

I just take a nap and forget about them

Us old people have a very short attention span ... its a real blessing!

It's that darn global warming thing. Just think how cold it would be if it hadn't warmed up to snow and ice. Brrr the thought of it makes me shiver. I'm sure glad we have those people (the global warming believers) to warn us about how hot it's getting.

    Global warming??

Oh, so that's what their saying!

I thought it was Globular Worming and couldn't figure out what they were talking about.

I didn't know what it was, but it scared me.
